2007 XLS with Nav. The driver side door lock won't automatically lock. It still unlocks fine but it will not lock via the remote or when I put the car in gear.

View 3 RepliesA spring popped out of the door pocket in the driver side door when someone tried to clean it pulling it out (which they shouldn't have done). I have the two springs but I need a diagram on how to open the door to get inside the panel to put it back. How the door comes apart ? I can try to guess but you know there is always a trick.

View 4 RepliesOn my sister's 2009 avalon unlimited, the remote will only unlock the rear drivers side door. If the door handle is grasped to unlock the doors, only the rear drivers side door unlocks. On the inside of the car, the drivers side door unlock switch (master switch) does nothing. The passengers side door unlock switch only unlocks the rear drivers side door. The bottom line is that only the rear drivers side door locks and unlocks using the remote or passenger side door unlock button on the inside of the vehicle.

View 18 RepliesI have an 8 month old vehicle that will not lock the driver side door lock (using the power lock, fob and/or when you take the vehicle out of park). The issue seems to go away, but returns usually right after I get it back from the dealership. On a side note all of the other door locks activate and deactivate fine.
View 7 RepliesAt first we would use the remote and sometimes the lock would not lock the drivers side door but the rest of the car would. Normally if I tried a second time it would catch and lock.
Now I need to flip the lock switch myself when getting out of the car. I can unlock the car with the remote but there has been the odd time that it will not unlock via the remote and I've had to go around to the passenger side and reach over to unlock the drivers side door.
If I hold the lock and try to unlock or lock the car it is very weak compared to doing the same with all the others doors.
From looking around if sounds like it could be the actuator?
If this is the case how easy is this to replace on my own? I've been trying to see if there's a video anywhere but no luck finding one.
I have a 2011 Avalon. The power door locks will all lock with the door button and the remote key. The problem is that only the drivers door will unlock with either method, what a pain.

The remote Door lock, does not lock or unlock drivers door. But locks/unlocks all the other door.
I'm posting for my Dad who recently bought a black 2009 Avalon XLS. He loves the car but there's one annoying glitch: if the car sits too long in the sun, the driver's side door cannot be opened with either the FOB or even by inserting the key in the door. He then has to go around to the passenger side, and either climb over the centre console or reach over and manually unlock the door. What surprises me is that he can't even mechanically unlock the door with the key.
I've spent a lot of time research this, but I've been surprised at how little I've found. Eventually I came across similar complaints with black Toyota or Lexus door locks failing in the heat, but nothing for the 3G Avalon and "heat failures". To confirm, this problem only arises when the car is parked in the sun on a warm day.
Some background: New remotes programmed worked a month then stopped working, toyota dealer got it working for a month but only worked within 3 feet of door. Now not working at all. Could it be receiver for remote in the car? Where is it? How to fix?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Avalon Limited. Just recently when I have the air turn on, it blows warm/hot air on the drivers side where the passenger side is cold as ice??? What gives??? I have the dual zone feature, and the drivers site is warm weather its on dual zone or regular.
View 7 RepliesReplaced the battery on my 07 the other day, and subsequently discovered my passenger side power window would not open or close from driver side control switch. Initially thought the worse of course, that I needed a new motor for the passenger side window. Then I tried the passenger side window switch and the window worked fine.
So now, I think that the switch for the passenger side window (on the driver's side) is bad, and I will need to replace the whole switch control module. Did a search and found the root cause and solution to the problem. Apparently, after replacing a battery, I needed to RESET the passenger side switch from the passenger side, by HOLDING the switch approx. 3 seconds after raising and lowering the window two times.
I got a 2011 SEL with power seats. Is it possible to VAG the Tig seats to be able to automatically move back when I open the driver side door so there's more leg room to get out and also move back to last driver seat settling once you start the car? I know that feature is standard in some luxury cars like Mercedes.

Is there someone out there that can refer me to a parts diagram or simple instructions that I can follow to fix it?
View 4 RepliesJust picked up my Avalon and the drivers side front door doesn't want to shut. It will latch but won't close all the way. If you give it a hard slam it will. All other doors shut with a gentle push.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 limited and around 41 mph I get a lot of wind noise from the top of the driver side A pillar. I did some research and it seems like it's a known issue. During my research I found there may have been an advisory issued (T-TT-0065-10) by Toyota, but the dealer can't find a record of it.
I've heated the seals / molding around the top of the door and re-fluffed it which didn't work. The seals are doing their job. When I pressure wash the car no water is getting in (never did). Tried sealing the gaps with blue painters tape to stream line the gaps and that didn't work. I'm pretty sure the noise isn't caused by the seal. It's difficult to pinpoint.
