After searching the forums about other owners with the dreaded rear shade buzzing, I am trying to located the fuse to disconnect the rear shade. I will remove the rear seat if I need to but would rather not go through the hassle.
The fuse panel is different than the posts for the 2005/2006 non-limited

I use the rear sunshade in the summer months, but not all the time - just here and there.
There has never been a child, or anyone in the backseat who has ever messed with the rear shade, it either goes up or down, and has never been messed with.
Today I went to put the shade up, and all I heard was a click from the back area where the shade is. I tired it several times, but all I heard was a little click, and the shade did not go up.
I put the car in reverse (which causes the shade to go down when its up), I put the car in drive, then returned the car to park. I hit the button again, this time the shade came up.
Once the shade was all the way up, I waited a minute and pressed the button again. The shade arms started to fold down, then stopped. The shade will not go back down. I put the car in reverse, and it attempts to bring down the shade, but it wil not go down.
My thinking is, its not the switch (because the signal is getting to the shade mechanism, I can hear a click back there, even if it doesn't go up or down).
I'm thinking it's not the motor, because it "did" go up, it just won't go back down. Although, it could be that the motor is weak, and not enough power to lift, or lower the shade?
2006 Avalon Limited: getting a P0015 code. My mechanic says it has to do with cam sensors(?) "cam pos actuator b bank 1: timing over retarded." Dealer told mechanic that they've never seen one of these sensors go and to check the wiring harness for damage; mechanic found none. 153,000 miles.
View 7 RepliesI have an 06 Limited with the smart key, and am trying to find out if there is a way to lock the doors automatically. It seems there's all kinds of things the smart key can do, but this isn't one of them. Between the Engine Immobilizer and the smart key, they can be set to do everything automatically except lock the doors. I know the smart key can lock the doors from the outside, but you have to press the door lock button on the smart key which isn't much of an improvement over just sticking a dumb key into the door lock.
View 2 RepliesOn my sister's 2009 avalon unlimited, the remote will only unlock the rear drivers side door. If the door handle is grasped to unlock the doors, only the rear drivers side door unlocks. On the inside of the car, the drivers side door unlock switch (master switch) does nothing. The passengers side door unlock switch only unlocks the rear drivers side door. The bottom line is that only the rear drivers side door locks and unlocks using the remote or passenger side door unlock button on the inside of the vehicle.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 Avalon Limited. A couple of weeks ago I put the car in reverse and I started hearing this loud buzzing noise coming from the rear window area. I narrow it down to the rear window sunshade. It also makes this noise when pressing the button to lower the shade and maybe sometimes rising it. I know it has something to do with the relay or motor when the signal is sent to it to lower it, because a lower the shade signal is sent when the car is put into reverse or button is pushed. How to find the motor or relay without taking the rear seat out. Right now I would rather just disconnect it to stop the annoying buzzing noise. Where can I find a service/maintence manual to maybe find out how to disconnect it.
View 14 RepliesOk...I've been reading about Michelin tires on the forum and unfortunately, I just bought my 07' Limited with a brand new set of Kelly "Charger" Tires. So, I took a trip last week and noticed at 55-73 mph, the car rides nice, smooth, and quiet. However, when I hit 74 or 75 mph, I began hearing a road noise that sounds as if the tires have hit a certain oscillatory air resonance at this speed.
I'm wondering if it's due to the tire tread pattern or something else. Strangest damn thing. When I accelerate faster, the noise seems to diminish a little but still isn't smooth and quiet. Maybe I'm just drowning it out some while it accelerates. When I bring it back down below 74 mph, it goes nice and quiet again.
I have the tire pressures set at 40 psi (trying to get a little extra fuel mileage). However, I'm wondering if this might cause the problem...I believe the pressure should be between 35-38 psi. My TPMS light hasn't lit up, so I guess it doesn't see fault with an extra 2 psi. Anyway, the tires appear to be a quality tire. I looked they show the following ratings.
My beloved 07 Avalon is in the process of getting totaled because someone (NOT ME) didn't bother to see if there was any oncoming traffic before turning. But I digress.
I'm 99% I'll be replacing it with another 07 Limited, and I have to finish cleaning it out of all my belongings tomorrow. In short, I'm taking everything out of it I can, including my satellite receiver. Looking at the procedures for installing the 06 and 09 (which I could find easily online) it looks like all I need to do is:
- remove the panel on the right inside of the trunk
- remove the receiver unit by unscrewing the 2 10 mm nuts
- unplug the receiver
Is there anything else I should grab while I'm in there? And, how hard is it to remove the panel in the trunk?
Problem just started last night when I turned the defroster on. Now the engine cuts off when the air is turned on at lower speed/rpms.
View 4 RepliesI have an '07 Avalon Limited with the heated/ventilated front seats. The drivers seat just does not seem to cool properly, and what the problem might be. Occasionally when I put my hand on the seat I can feel a tiny amount of air blowing through the perforations, but most of the time it's not nearly enough to cool through a pair of jeans, and I can't even tell that it's on.

Oh wait and my rear-view mirror has a bunch of black inside the mirror.
I will probably have a bunch of stuff for sale soon. BC-R coils with Swift springs , AC front lip, Rear ISF difuser, Lexus Japan Visors and some mods.
This morning i realized that my rear shade did not completely extend. Is this an easy fix or do i have to go to the dealer?
View 8 RepliesThe sunshade will go up when you push button but will not go back down when put in reverse or pushing the button. The control arms move about 2-3 inches and stops.

In the morning, once I get in and press engine start, there is a buzzing, d...zzz..d....d..zzz.zzz.... noise coming from the dash area. I turned the car off and restart, it went away. It happened once a while. This morning, same noise, I kept on driving, probably after 30 sec, it stopped..
I can't adjust my exterior rear view mirrors with the control button. I tried looking up the fuse in the Owner's Manual and didn't see the one it could be? I checked 51 and 55. Which one it is? Or what else the issue could be? (I am not trying to do this while the car is moving)(2006 Avalon Limited)
View 4 RepliesI occasionally hear a buzzing sound in my driver side door. I turn down the radio to make sure it wasn't the speaker. This noise only last for a few seconds then goes away.
View 4 RepliesI have totally insulated my 2013 Avalon XLE with the sound deadening materials. Now, I can hardly hear or feel any engine noise or vibration at any speed unless I really accelerate the engine hard. I have also insulated my wife's 2012 Camry LE but I have not been able to eliminate the typical 4 cylinder engine buzzing sound and vibration intruding into the cabin. I am wondering if the Avalon Hybrid does the same once the 4 cylinder engine kicks in even though it is better insulated than the Camry.
