Accord :: Radio Display Went Black And Nothing Is Visible

my sister has a 2003 accord v6. shes got about 70,000 miles on it. recently the radio display went black and nothing is visible. at the time the display went out, the audio was still working, just no display. if i recall correctly, it also displays the controls for the heat/ac controls also. Unfortunately, after the display blacked out, she had a separate, unrelated dead battery issue. a new battery was installed but now there's nothing because of the built in security feature that kicks in when the battery is disconnected. What the actual part is called that needs to be replaced? from what i read, its not the radio unit itself.

My 10 months old 2011 Corolla started acting up. Two days ago I noticed the light on the clock is gone, so now I cannot see time at night or when driving in a parking garage.
Today in the morning I turned the headlights on and oops...the radio is playing fine but the display is black. If I want to see station #'s, I have to turn off the lights.
What's wrong with the clock light and radio display? Do I have to take to the dealer right away or can it wait until I go for an oil change in a week or so?

It is OK with the lights off and you can see the display, just with no back light when the lights are turned on. The light in the glove box is off too, but I can't find a blown fuse.

During a recent vacation, while driving at night, the MPH display went black. I completed the drive to the hotel, resolving to change the fuse in the morning. When I started the car in the morning, the display was still black. I checked the fuse I thought should be involved (#22), but it was good. The MPG / MPG screen was still bad. Not wanting to drive an additional 400 miles back home without a speedometer, I called the closest dealership to get an appointment. The 2010 has 33K miles on it .
When we packed up and started the car for the trip to the dealer, everything was working. One week later and all is good. I plan on getting this anomaly recorded with Toyota just in case it happens again after the warrantee runs out.

I am due to make a 400 mile round trip business trip today. Go out and start the car, and the screen display is black. The MFD. None of the buttons on it work, either - I have the beep ON, no beep. I turned it off, waited about 1 minute and tried again, still nothing. Went for a short drive (took the dogs to the park where they can run), it was off for about 35 minutes. Still nothing for the short drive back home. I mean short, this is less than 2 miles one way.
I can still access the a/c and the radio from the steering wheel. I can see my speed, fuel etc, that is fine. It is just the display monitor. This came out of the blue, I have not noticed any issues at all.

Was driving the last week and happened to look down and notice the display for my climate controls was completely black. They were still running at whatever I had them last set at but couldn't change anything or turn the system off. Pulled into a parking lot, turned the truck off then started it again and everything was working fine.
Couple days later, was driving down the road again, glanced down and now my climate display, stereo display and odometer display were all black but once again everything was still functioning, just couldn't change anything. Turned my wipers on to check those, heard a little click, and all the displays popped back on like normal???? Wipers worked just fine too.
I'm assuming a short somewhere but wouldn't even know where to start to look or if it's even within my limited skill set to try and track down.

Screen go black, radio shut off, then reset itself while driving over and over again. Have the car parked and radio stays on after you pull the key and set the alarm. And the final piece, the alarm goes off three times no lights flashing then stops sitting in a garage, not outside. Is this a short ? I have two brand new batteries, new starter new altenator.

I bought a new 2000 740il and the navigation system went black recently and the radio shuts off after 2 min. and you have to double click the on off to get the radio back on, then it shuts off again after 2 min. The navigation screen and system does not work and I did not disconnect the battery, lose power or get a jump, as many first ask. The dealer has no solution but to sell me a new car or a new system.

Haven't driven the 2013 ES 350 very much yet but my Nav map has suddenly turned to black and white instead of the initial multiple colors, even during the day. What happened ... can't seem to find on the system how to revert back without going thru 900+ page book. Also, the map is showing some roads/hwys. with tiny circles (attached to each other) instead of the previous thick lines?
Radio, don't have the XM service but when listening to std. issue radio, sometimes and lasting maybe for 8-10 seconds or so, the radio suddenly sounds very "echoey" and more emphasized, it seems, from the back speakers. Then it reverts back to "normal" - only to do it again within the same 20 min. drive-time.

Just picked up a 2011 F350 6.2. (Couldn't take another day with my 6.0 which I'm now selling) New one has a few minor snags that I want to clean up. First one is the radio screen is black. Blank. Nothing there, although the radio does work. Seller had it tuned to a station. It has steering wheel controls. Here's the radio. Can this be repaired?

2016 F250 Lariat, 4x4, Crew cab, Loaded, 6.2L gas, approx. 2,400 miles.
Well this was weird and spooky. I had to run to FedEx this morning. As I'm driving on the freeway at 70mph, suddenly the gauge cluster goes black, needles drop to zero, radio/panel display goes black, radio/AC reboots.
This happens about 5 times in rapid succession over the course of 35-50 seconds. Engine continued to run, could steer, etc.
Once things come back on, the radio was playing but the display showed it was off, same as the Climate but AC was still working.
I arrived at FedEx, shut off the engine, radio kept playing even after I locked and closed the door. Delivered the package, came out started the truck and everything worked fine for the next stop and drive home.
Could this be the same issue as was evident on previous models the the wire in the shift lever?

My 2008 Santa Fe has an xm radio. All of a suddent the display is out. The backlight comes on but no lcd display??? The radio itself works fine

2010 model, happened about 2-3 so far. doesn't go away with POW-VOL off and on, but goes away after turning off the car. musics played fine though.

I have a 2009 3.3L Limited with the Nav system. Sometimes when I start the car the radio/nav display is locked up and will only display the Hyundai logo. During this lock-up, the radio still works. Using the steering wheel selectors I can switch beween station presents, between radio bands, and can change XM radio stations as well. The USB flash drive will not play any music during the lock-up. If I turn the car off then turn it on again, the problem goes away. This lock-up typically happens once every few weeks.

I have a 2007 bottle fed EX 350. I am installing XM into it. SAT/AM button scrolls thru SAT 1 2 3. Display sometimes shows 184 or 255. Occasionally is says Radio Err, It has displayed "radio id" with nothing else, And I managed to get it to display a cryptic looking F W1 4 30 .
NO XM ID
Siriusxm cannot work with my vin.
Cannot tune to ch0 as there is no XM preview going on.

It was below 0 yesterday morning and when I turned on the car the text which shows radio/clock/temp/etc did not appear. Just the blue highlight background with no text. Did not appear at all even when the car warmed up and has not appeared since. Everything works normally however (CD, Bluetooth, Radio)
Is there any option to reset the display? If not I guess I have to take it in... I have a 2011 Limited without NAV.

The radio text display data stopped updating on my unit and still shows the artists/song titles from when it stopped working (several months ago). Whether there a procedure to reset this?
