Yesterday for the first time my sunroof suddenly opens automatically while driving, didn't touch anything.. Couldn't close it then, buttons didn't work for 10 minutes before finally works. I'll take it to the dealer monday morning...
View 4 RepliesI've had cars in the past that the fan would come on automatically when the ac was turned on regardless of the temp. Meaning the second the ac button was hit, the cooling fan came on.
I have the 13 GS and it does not come on automatically. Is the fan supposed to come on automatically with ac on or is it temperature driven even with ac on?
I find it very annoying that the A/C comes on automatically when the defroster is turned on.

View 20 RepliesYesterday, I took my Prius to a parking lot. I normally just give them my entire key fob, however because the guy said he might be leaving early - he had me take the emergency key and he placed the smart key part under the mat so I could unlock the car.
However, now when I walk up to my car, it no longer automatically opens. And when I just to start my car without the key in the holder, it doesn't.
Did he do something funny? Do I need to reset anything? Do I need to yell at the valet guy?!
I have a 2013 Accent GLS hatch. There were no GLS hatches within 1700 kms available for a test drive when I was shopping, so I never got to test the sunroof before purchasing. I have had the car 10 weeks, and am not impressed with the wind noise from the sunroof while traveling at 80 kmh. I know, going that fast there will be some noise, but my XG350 probably makes 20% of the amount of noise from the Accent. I find it rather annoying, and ususally just close the sunroof unless I'm in the city...
My question is, if we install one of these 2011+ Accent Sunroof Wind Deflector ? did it improve or worsen the wind noise? Did it affect the 'partially open' or 'fully open' positions or both?
On a side note, thinking about these 2012+ Accent 5 Door Smoke Tinted Window Visors as well, so I can crack the side window to eliminate the "helicopter effect" when the sunroof is fully opened.
Today my sunroof tilted open all by itself while I was driving, then it closed it by itself. Then it did it all over again.
A week ago it tilted open, I closed it by moving the switch to full open, then close.
In another post ("Sunroof Problem") I found one mention of this problem and the switch was the culprit.
I had to have the switch replaced?
I have a 99 Passat with about 65K on it. The sunroof will open sporadically and not necessarily close right away with the switch.

View 10 RepliesMy 2008 has about 49k miles on her and my Moonroof started acting up the other day. The tilt function works perfectly. It even slides out to max open, however when I attempt to close it, it closes about 2/3 of the way then it acts as if it senses something in the way and opens all the way back up. I didn't take anything apart, but didn't notice anything in the rails. I also didn't hear any sort of grinding or stalling on the motor. If the motor is going bad?
View 2 RepliesProblem I'm having with my sunroof on my '10 GTI. The sunroof opens an inch and makes cracking/grinding noises. Then it needs a push on the actual glass while turning the nob in order to force it to close. And the tilt function ends up with one corner of the glass further down then the other. How to fix this problem or how to remove the headliner, or if it is worth bringing to the dealer? The dealer is the last thing i want to do because my warranty is up and those jerks charge an arm and a leg on labor alone.
View 3 RepliesThere were 2 times I'd noticed my sunroof opened vertically when I walked to my car without recalling ever opening it. I'd just think maybe I forgot to close it. When I looked at the knob, it wasn't switch to a level so i thought it was weird.
Today while driving, my sunroof did the same thing. It opened by itself. I didn't initiate it whatsoever.
My wife had her car go off today while driving. Prior to this happening, she had switched off the engine while in a gas station, with the gear in D. After driving about 13kms more, the car goes off while in motion and doesn't restart immediately. When it finally does, it shudders until finally stabilizing. Could it possibly be due to the single act of switching off while in D gear? The car is a 2013 accent GLS.
View 28 RepliesI have a 2012 accent, while I drive this loud squealing happens. My car is under warranty but the techs have to hear the noise to do anything.
At 55mph the squealing gets so loud my music can't cover the noise. Around 70mph it goes away (still can hear slightly). When I come to a stop it keeps squeaking for few seconds then stops.
After leaving my car parked for 4 days at the airport, my car has a burning smell when driving. Nothing is on except the engine. It's still smelling after 4 days. I've left my car at the airport for longer and have never smelled this before.
View 6 RepliesMy check engine light just came on while driving home tonight. And there seems to be a weird rattly engine noise on the passenger side.
Just took the car to the mountains (800km round trip) all highway and got back Thursday night. Didn't drive yesterday, and today I took it out for a bit and it felt sort of loose... I don't know how else to explain it. Throttle didn't seem as responsive. I've only just hit the 6000km mark on it, and had the flash done at 4000km.
What in the world is wrong with my car? And now I can't even take it in til Tuesday because of the holiday.
Its been awhile since I've posted, but this is annoying me! Everytime I drive over a small imperfection on the road, I hear this "rattle" or "small thunk" that sounds like either plastic panels in the rear, or maybe the rear suspension.
I ensured the rear seats were locked in place, I even removed that flimsy rear deck, and even drove with my seats down, and I still hear the sound.
I park on some bumpy terrain at my house, and sometimes I'll go over speed bumps maybe a little too fast, but not really fast.
Its just a sound that's never been there before, and I can't hear it unless I have the music off. Its not overly loud, but that "rattle" or "thunk" just makes me this car feel not so "new and refined" anymore.
