I just did a front bumper repair and now I need something to mount my plate because because in Ontario we need a plate in the front and the back. I current have it zip tied to the lower grill. Any good option for a mount that doesn't involve drilling?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2012 sedan. I am not sure what happened, I don't know that I'm getting the full story. I bought the 2012 Accent for my partner, I drive an 11' Santa Fe. Anyhow, the front bumper on the passenger side appears to be separating from the body of the car underneath where it clips in under the fender/headlight area. I snapped it back in and it appeared to be secure. Went out to the garage last night and, well... it's popped back out but looks worse than it did before. Is it just clips that hold the bumper on that could have broke? And if so, do I have to replace the entire bumper to correct this?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 Accent GLS with premium package. So, this came with fog lights. Few months back, one of the fog lights got ripped of its place and the body shop said the hooks which hold the light are broken and whole bumper need to be replaced for the light to be attached and quote was given for around $750.
I contacted other small body shops to just stick the light with glue but no one accepted to do that.
I don't use those fog lights anyway. So, is it cheap in a way to remove the other fog light and just fill the fog light spots? When I say fill, I am not sure what those are called which exist in place of fog lights for a car with no fog lights. I think its better than just being with one fog light.
How to modify this light so that it can stay on with the low beams? This light only works in "auto" mode.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2012 SE v6 with 1600 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed my bumper cover pulled away from the corner of the headlight and there was a noticeable gap. I pushed on it, and heard a click. The bumper stayed in place. After a couple days driving, it came loose again. I didnt touch it so the Service Writer would see it first hand. Of course, his first instinct was to puch on it, but I got loud quickly, so he kept his hands to himself, and heard me out. I knew if he clicked it back into place I would be SOL. He admitted something needed to be done, not just click it back.
When I picked it up, he said it was a known issue, and there is a TSB on it. He claimed they replaced a bracket. The invoice reads, "ADDED FELT TO TIGHTEN FIT". Yeah, Im sure that will hold just long enough for them to wash their hands of it.
Had a little accident with the '12 Passat and the front left side of the bumper popped out a little bit. I have very little experience working with the outer body of cars so I am a little bit hesitant about whether if I should just remove the entire bumper and readjust it, or is there a way that I can realign it without removing it entirely? Though I have no problem removing the bumper if needed.

I accidentally lost one of those metal nuts that goes underneath the bumper - its like a hexagon if I remember correctly. - I had to use a torque wrench to open them and there was like 8 or 10 total.

View 2 RepliesI have a rental 2012 Avalon for two weeks. Yesterday I noticed extensive scratches at the front/right corner of the front bumper. The scratches could be covered with two hands. Some scratches are as deep as the primer, but not on the plastic.
I am pretty sure that they are not there until last one or two days ( it has been raining, they would not be very visible when wet). The scratches looks kind of old, could it be that they were fixed in a substandard way so that they are washed off in the rain and became visible?
Was talking to a cab company running over a hundred Prius, they like the gas mileage.
Biggest problem running a hundred plus Prius in LA is the skirt front bumper is so low to the ground (for better aerodynamics) ... less than 5 inches ground clearance when loaded ... it hits the ground and bows the side moldings of the bumper.
So I've noticed in the past 2-3 weeks when I come to a stop I here a creaking sound coming from the Front end, I gotta get someone to stand outside while I stop just to clarify where the creaking is coming from? It only happened when I push down the brakes a little more aggressively to come to a quicker stop, not it's a sound that I shouldn't be hearing that's for sure.

I opened the hood yesterday to fill the washer fluid and noticed I have a gap between the insulator dust cap, body or frame and strut insulator. I can almost poke a pencil through the gap. I am to think this is not normal. I have about 16000 kms on the car.

I look around and I find this...
I look around the steering wheel and I don't see holes without screws. I feel around the back of the steering wheel and there are two holes... I couldn't see down the hole to check so I used my phone.. Everything seems fine here...
Ok. Now to figure out what these screws hold.. Nailed it on the first try.. But then.. these fell down!

The front driver wheel does his flapping noise, it sounds as if there's a rock in my tire. No tred problem, no cv boot problems.
I have purchased an UltraRacing strut bar for my hyundai accent 2005... The problem however is that my intake manifold sits higher than the throttle body and as a result of this i am unable to mount the bar... The bar has been made for an 03 accent but all points are identical, the only difference that i was able to see is that in the previous accent the throttle body was NOT plastic and sat FLUSH with the throttle body, whereas mine IS plastic and does NOT sit flush with the throttle body.
View 1 RepliesMy front left turn signal was hyper flashing. I replaced all four bulbs to no avail. Just to satisfy my curiosity I switched the bulb holder from left to right sides. The hyper flash followed to the right side. Turns out that the bulb holder shorted out. I had it replaced under warranty yesterday.
View 2 RepliesMy 2013 Accent seems to be shredding the front inside wheelwell liner. I have to get both of them replaced. I noticed this had already happened when I bought the car, but since I didn't hear any noise during the "spirited" test drive, I figured who cares?
I was wrong. They rub whenever I go over a slight bump. The tire size is OEM. I am assuming it's happening because they are already shredded and loose.
Is this a common problem with the Accent (of course, if it happens with aftermarket larger rims or tires I get it)...
