So I picked up my Accent on Tuesday with only 8kms on it and I love it! However I have one problem, I was driving around today and kept on hearing a rattling noise coming from the front right passenger side. I tried to lower/raise the window but I think it may be around the speaker.
View 3 RepliesI just purchased my first VW, a 2012 Tiguan SE in Night Blue Metallic. The level of fit and finish, handling, and general feel are miles ahead of my old '04 Jeep Liberty.
Anyway, I've had the car for about 250 miles and have noticed a clunking/rattling noise coming from what sounds like the front passenger side suspension arm. The noise is fairly quiet but seems to consistently happen when turning left over uneven pavement.
I plan on taking it to the dealer this weekend and it is only a minor annoyance, but a shame since the rest of the vehicle is so quiet and refined.
Went to dealer today for rattling noise which appeared to be coming from bottom of engine on passenger side. Dealer diagnosed bad a/c compressor and had to order. This noise has been going on for past week and noise appeared with and without a/c on and always at "idle" speed. Noise would go from barely audible to very noisy and loudest with a/c on. If I turned a/c off, noise would diminish immediately; however, still audible with a/c on. Car only has 2,950 miles and a/c works fine, other than the rattling noise at times.
View 2 RepliesMy wife has a 2012 Accent with 23k miles. Within the last few weeks she started having a clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side when going over bumps. I had some time to check the basics (loose lugs, broken exhaust bracket, spare tire, trunk lid, etc..) and have come up with nothing. I'm not very familiar with Hyundai's, but I wouldn't think there are very many components to the rear suspension other than struts that could be making a clunk like that. But with 23k miles, the struts shouldn't be bad.
View 6 RepliesHaving problems with a squeaking or ticking noise coming from the front windshield area on the passenger side? I took off the A-pillar and tweeter speaker cover, and the noise was still there. Pressing on the A-pillar did not work and it's not any of the cords or plastics in there rubbing. It almost sounds like it's behind the A-pillar. Pressing on the dash, windshield, headliner, etc. all have no effect on the noise.
I'm trying really hard to fix this myself because I'm worried about a tech tearing apart the dash trying to fix it. It might end up worse than it is now. I'm thinking this TSB will need to be done (which seems to apply to all Toyotas): [URL] ....
Next on my list to check is the passenger side mirror (make sure it's fastened securely) and also the black liner under the windshield wipers. I also have foam (like the kind you use when installing a window AC) which I may also try stuffing into the bottom of the front windshield (and maybe the top) to see if that works.
If all else fails, the car is going to the dealer I guess. The Camry is such a quiet car that the noise is really irritating in an otherwise quiet interior. Other than this noise, the car is great! Just a little bummed because my 2005 has zero rattles or noises and my gf's old 2009 also had no rattles or noises. The 2015 refresh is nice, though we're still on the fence about the front grille. My relative is waiting for the 2016's to be released later this year and then he will be buying one for his patrol car. The 2015 isn't a full redesign but it looks different enough that he wants to wait for the next MY to come out. He's dreading leaving behind his 5MT Civic but it needs to be replaced. He hasn't had an auto, ever, come to think of it..

My 2 door tdi is about 3 months old now. its whisper quiet in the cabin with the exception of this one rattle coming from somewhere on the front passenger seat area.
I've removed everything from the cabin to make sure something wasn't rubbing against anything but the rattle is still there. the odd thing is is that I cant seem to exactly isolate where its coming from.
I've knocked on the door panel, glovebox area and everywhere else i can think of and I cant reproduce it unless the car is driving. Where it was coming from?
I have an 2012 Accent that is sitting at 35k miles. I just got the 30,000 service done and a few days after I started to hear this ticking sound along with a squeak. The car can be idle or moving, squeak still there. It's sporadic though. Sometimes I can go 20-30 miles without hearing it and then all of a sudden I start hearing the ticking squeak. It sounds like its coming below the front passenger side of the car. It doesn't matter how fast I'm going, it's a ticking squeak that just comes and goes, but when it comes, it usually sticks around until I turn the car off and let it cool down. If i start the car right after, the squeaking comes back, but if I let the car cool down (overnight, for example), the squeak goes away until I drive 20-30 miles. I commute to work about 40 miles each way (80 miles total) every day so I can definitely hear it and it's bothersome.
View 5 RepliesFor the last few months I noticed that there is a rattling or clicking noise that frequently comes from the front passenger seat area but only when no one is in that seat. If the seat is being weighed down by someone sitting there, there is no rattle or clicking noise. It generally occurs when I'm driving on bumpier or textured roads. It suspect that it's coming from something underneath the seat, like the lever that adjusts the seat forward and backward underneath it.
I brought the car to a local dealership and they took a look. After a few hours with them, the car was returned to me. They said they'd found that the lever that adjusts the seat forward/backward was not tightly screwed down all the way on one side, so they adjusted that to make it tight. They also found a coin on the rail underneath that seat and removed it too. However, I drove the car afterward and it is still making the noise.
I've searched this forum and already think I've ruled out the seat belt or the buckle as an issue. I put on the seat belt for the passenger seat and the noise still happens. It's really annoying when driving on a freeway!
What is making the rattling noise on my 2015 Toyota Camry XSE on the passenger side?? It only happens when I drive through cobblestone roads at low speeds or some bumpy roads. It sounds like a water bottle in the cup holder when its makes that rattling sound. I was thinking it's the A-pillar cover on the passenger side.

View 42 RepliesI have 06 gs300 AWD and recently it started to make that noise. At first I thought my shock/struts went bad and i had it inspect and they are good, ball joint and control arms also good. However, I do not know if strut mount is bad or not. When I go over small cracks i can hear rattles inside but when i let my windows down I hear less. I do not know if the window or door has to do something with it. It seems like coming from passenger side. Btw sometimes i do feel even dashboard rattles a bit.
View 10 RepliesMy 2004 F-150 5.4 has a rattling noise coming from the passenger side of the engine when at operating temperature. The cam phasers and all related parts have been replaced. The reason I was prompted to change the phasers, chains, guides and tensioners was due to the engine stopping on me as I returned home from an errand. The engine had already shown signs of needing the phasers replaced.
The engine runs very smooth while warming up. Vehicle lacks power and has a rough idle after warm. Took the truck to a local mechanic, in the process of making a diagnosis, he performed a compression test. Cylinder 3 psi was much lower than the other 7 cylinders, the mechanic recommended replacing the engine (possible bent valve).
I have a Haynes manual, have searched youtube and checked this and similar forums, I have yet to find instructions on the removal of the head from the block.

I've noticed a rattling noise coming from under the front of my 02 toyota corolla. I looked under the car and there seems to be a piece of metal under the front of the car thats vibrating and making the noise. The piece of metal is almost directly in the middle front of the car, in-between the front tires. The sound seems to be most prominent when I accelerating or backing up.

View 2 RepliesI'm having a hard time diagnosing a creaking noise that is coming from the front driver side area. Since the Camry is pretty quiet, this is the one stand out noise that annoys me while driving. I placed my phone next to the front windshield to get as close as possible to the noise but am having trouble locating the exact spot. Where it's coming from.
The noise tends to appear when outside temperature is spring/summer like. In the winter I really didn't notice it. So that tells me the interior temperature is irrelevant despite warming up the cabin in winter. How this is linked to outside temperature I have no idea.
Ignore the large thump in the middle of the video as that is noise from going over potholes.

I've got some front end noise in my 09 accent gls. Its the passenger side when it goes over bumps. I've seen online it may be the sway bar end linkage? I don't have air tools or do too much work myself, I just do the typical stuff on my own, oil changes, brake replacement, stuff like that...how hard is this job?
View 11 RepliesI'm new to the forum and Excursion ownership but was hoping someone could save me some time and aggravation chasing a rattle in my 2004 2wd 6.0 PS. It seems to be coming from the front driver's side since I can feel it through the steering wheel. As of now, it's nothing major since it doesn't seem to affect tracking but I'm afraid it's getting worse.
I'm thinking it's a worn bushing but as I'm less familiar with the vehicle as y'all are, maybe you can point out the weak points that may be causing my issue. I plan on jacking up the front end tomorrow and inspecting for play. I'll let you know what (if anything) I find. Are there any known issues I should be aware of?
My 2013 has developed a door vibration in both the passenger front and rear doors. Happens when I either hit a bump or the door is closed. Ironically, had the same thing in my 2009 GTI.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2003 F-250 6.0L 2WD and I recently noticed a rattling thumping noise under the front end on the passenger side. I noticed the rattle shortly after I got new tires, which are a hair bigger than the tires I had on it before. I thought it might be my new tires rubbing since they were bigger but then I noticed the rattle when I had my wheel straight and also when not moving at all. I've been driving it for a couple of weeks now with this rattle and I've been able to determine that it rattles most when I am going downhill and turning to the left putting more of the weight of the truck on the front right suspension components.
After reading several threads my first attempt to find the problem lead me to the discovery of a worn sway bar bushing. I thought this was for sure the problem and replaced both bushings and end links. But the rattle didn't go away. Then I thought maybe it was a bad wheel bearing so I replaced the wheel bearings in both front wheels. Still no change. Lastly, I happened to find a loose ABS line in the front right wheel well that was no longer secured and was banging against plastic. I secured that and still no change. All the bushings seem to be in good shape so I am considering taking it to a mechanic since I don't want to just replace everything hoping that it solves the problem piece by piece.
Within the last few days whenever I am backing up there tends to be a low hum noise coming from the passenger side tire when backing up and with no pressure on the brakes. The noise is not present at any time other then backing up so I am really unsure what could be causing it.
What could be causing this before I work on it. I know its not having any problem braking as well as it is also driving straight when the steering wheel is let go in drive.
Background: I brought my R in for service last week because the AC stopped working. I ended up needing the compressor and the fans replaced. I picked my car up and drove it home with no problems. The next day I drove it I started to hear a rather loud buzzing noise that sounded like something was rattling loose from the front passenger side of the car behind the dashboard. It was loud enough to hear over the stereo while driving on the freeway.
Thinking something was wrong with the newly installed fans I brought the car back to the dealership and now they're telling me the fuel pump needs to be replaced. From what I understand, the fuel pump is in the back of the car under the rear seats and attached to the gas tank. I explained to them that I'm a bit confused because the sound is clearly coming from the front of the car but the mechanic there insists what I'm hearing is the fuel pump. Am I crazy or does what they're saying sound reasonable?
I tried looking at a couple YouTube videos that had sound of a VR6 fuel pump gone bad but the sound was nothing like what I was hearing.
