I'm trying to change all of the piano black finishes in my Accent to matte black finishes. This includes my dashboard facade, shift-box cover, and shifter head. I can't figure out how to get the shift box cover or shifter head off, though.
View 1 RepliesNot sure what the deal is, but I was cleaning the car today with the radio on (not the car). All of a sudden the radio turns off. I thought it was the battery. So I go to turn it on and I get *click - click-click-click*. I pick up jumper cables, and go to throw the car into neutral to push it out of the garage, but that shifter is stuck in Park.

I look around the steering wheel and I don't see holes without screws. I feel around the back of the steering wheel and there are two holes... I couldn't see down the hole to check so I used my phone.. Everything seems fine here...
Ok. Now to figure out what these screws hold.. Nailed it on the first try.. But then.. these fell down!
I have a 2013 Accent GLS and I have to replace the rear bumper cover. Any detailed instructions on how to do this?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 Accent hatchback. The previous owner took good care of the interior except for the fold down armrest. I see a zipper on the back of the armrest cover,I assume to remove for cleaning but I do not see how to remove the armrest to clean the cover. I suppose I could scrub it in place but it really needs scrubbing.

View 6 RepliesWhat this may be. 2004 Accent Automatic. We just purchased recently for my daughters fist car. Today when leaving the house the car stays in first gear, you can move the shifter through the gears but it wont shift up. Reverse is fine. Checked the oil level in Neutral when hot and it was ok. Hooked up my code reader and there are no Codes. Car only has 85,000 KM on it.
View 5 RepliesSo long story short I picked up a 2003 Hyundai accent 5 speed 80xxx miles for $1,000 almost two years ago, vehicle has been running great but the shifter always felt loose and it feels really weird going into second (kinda like the shifter really falls far into gear) I was online searching and found other different type of Hyundai vehicles with the same issue and they replace the shifter bushings oem or after market and fixes the issue. I called hyundai and gave them my vin and they told me for my vehicle they don't sell the bushings , i would need to buy a whole new cable.
My questions is am I looking at the correct place to replace my shifter bushing on the trans or is there something else I should be looking at? Shifter has been getting to the point where it hurts my wrist to shift, I've already replaced the trans fluid and its not hard to go into gear, just feels loose and if I try and go fast and shift fast the car will probably grind second due to the shift lever.
Haven't had the engine cover off for about 25k now (cleaned it up under there last time I changed plugs.) Took it off today and noticed it's a little oily on all four sides around the valve cover.
Pretty sure I can account for the oil that's near the filler cap... I don't recall spilling enough that would completely go around the entire valve cover though...
But how did it end up so high on top of the valve cover on the corners? It's even a little wet looking on the back if you look hard enough..
I only have 4600 miles left of the 10/100 warranty so I'm glad I caught this and hope the dealer can do something about it... or are they going to tell me this a "normal" amount of seepage? I haven't owned a vehicle with plastic valve covers before so I don't quite know what to expect.
I am having accent 2003, 1.5L. It starts fine ,... runs fine.. but it consume engine oil. I have change 3 times in a year. i just noticed a little bit of smoke from where the spark plugs and the valve gasket is. There is no drop of oil on the ground.
I can see few oil on near the area of spark plugs and valve cover panel. There is no smoke from the exhaust too. It starts fine. Does that need replacement of valve gasket or head gasket ?
I installed my OGS shifter yesterday and noticed that when I plug in the car the OGS shifter stays on while the car is charging. Once charging is complete it will turn off.

I've read on other forums people replace everything under the boot only to have it return in a few months. I would really like to have this this squeaking gone. Cars a 2012 GTI

View 8 RepliesMy car has been making this chirping noise for a couple weeks now, and I can't figure out what is causing it. It's really bothering me.
The noise is sinked in with the rpms. While in neutral or while I have the clutch in, the noise stops. The higher the rpms I'm running, the faster the sound goes. I opened the hood the other day to see if I could figure it out, but all I found out from that is it sounds like it's coming from under the engine cover.
Engine? Maybe a component near it? Maybe it's just the cold weather constricting parts to a smaller size?
2008 Hyundai Accent 3 door the automatic transmission indicator light on the center console is not working anymore.
There is no mention of it in the Owners Manual. Every other bulb is referenced. Should I junk it or replace the bulb?
Recently the timing belt slipped and in turn shot several valves. After replacing the head and gaskets there is a small oil leak between the head and block. Can i tighten that head bolt a little? What is the best solution?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2001 1.6 DOHC Accent the engine has been making a lot noise coming form just the back of the head it kinda sounds like a diesel. I pulled the valve cover off and turned the engine over by hand. I noticed that cam chain has a good amount of slack in it. Is there a tensioner to take slack out of the chain? If so can I adjust it? If not how do I replace the chain?
View 8 RepliesRecently replaced the head and gasket on 2010 accent blue. Torqued to factory specs. There is an oil leak between the head and block in the front driver side. Can i tighten that bolt? Is there a break in period, do i need to re-torque or buy another gasket and head bolts?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 SE v6 with 1600 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed my bumper cover pulled away from the corner of the headlight and there was a noticeable gap. I pushed on it, and heard a click. The bumper stayed in place. After a couple days driving, it came loose again. I didnt touch it so the Service Writer would see it first hand. Of course, his first instinct was to puch on it, but I got loud quickly, so he kept his hands to himself, and heard me out. I knew if he clicked it back into place I would be SOL. He admitted something needed to be done, not just click it back.
When I picked it up, he said it was a known issue, and there is a TSB on it. He claimed they replaced a bracket. The invoice reads, "ADDED FELT TO TIGHTEN FIT". Yeah, Im sure that will hold just long enough for them to wash their hands of it.
