I have a problem, the passenger front door won't open from inside or out, neither handle on the inside or out works.
The lock goes up and down and the handles move but you can feel that they are not connected to anything. I took it to two mechanics and they shrugged.
If I can't open the door, I can't take the panels off and look inside the door. What I can do? I hate to destroy my door panel.
2006 Accent. Today I was stunned to find the inside driver's handle no longer opened the door : I'm sitting here with my door panel almost completely off, the only thing I'm stuck on is the manual window crank
I've been searching around google and here, all I can really find is that it's a huge PITA, and you're supposed to use a hook to pull out a C-Clip.
I really can't see this C-Clip. Or even make contact with it, if it is there. I've been pulling the crank back and peaking inside ever so slightly and I'm just not seeing anything. With a hook in there, I spun the crank hoping I'd feel a 'bump' or 'nudge' of the clip against my hook (bent metal wire), but honestly I've got nothing.
The little piece that flips when you lock the doors (you know what I mean, it is orange when it's open) has been acting up on my 06 Sonata. If you move it by hand it's fine (the door locks and unlocks) but when you use the fob and lock or unlock the doors, sometimes this one just doesn't move.
It looks like it wants to go, but doesn't. If you press lock and unlock again, it opens. on occasion.
When you pull the handle on the door it doesn't latch on to anything to open the door, whats wrong?

View 2 RepliesBasically what the title says, my brothers 2002 accent front doors won't open from the inside when you pull on the handle, no matter how many times, both sides before it was just the rear doors doing this, and I can't seem to find the child safety switch, but now the same thing is happening on the front doors, and since everything is electric this is pretty bad if the electrical system dies and you have to get out of the car, what the heck is going on?

View 3 RepliesSo the story begins last year when my inside front passenger handle no longer would open the door. I replaced the actuator with one from Ebay which worked great for a few months. Then suddenly everytime that I would press the fob twice to unlock the pass. doors the locks would unlock and then continue trying to unlock for about ten seconds. After pulling every door panel and unhooking each actuator individually, only after unhooking the one that was already replaced did the issue stop. It had a warranty so it was replaced and worked fine for about a month. Now I'm having an issue with my doors not staying locked. No matter how I try and lock them (with the exception of manually flipping each lock) they lock and automatically unlock like a door is open or key is in the ignition.
I tried reprogramming the locks to shut off the autolock thinking that may possibly fix the issue however even holding down on the lock button doesn't keep them locked so.....no reprogram mode.
Front passenger will not open. It sounds like it unlocks but won't open. I was able to get door panel partially off. But i can not see the latch assembly. Not sure if I should try to muscle the panel off more probably destroying it so I can get to latch assembly or try to make a hook of some kind to put down next to window to try to pull rod for door latch. I was able to get my hand inside trying to pull on the arms to open but it never worked. Trying to see if I can get more access to spray it with something to free it up.
View 3 RepliesI have problems with passenger side front door. It won't lock/unlock when holding the hand on the handle or when pressing the button on the handle. Everything is fine on driver side and when using the lock button from the arm rest on the same driver side of Prius. It is also OK when I unlock/lock the car with the FOB.
View 7 RepliesThe front passenger car door just closed and wouldn't open from either side. It is not locked, and lock is functional. Nothing budges.
Husband uses this car as a rural mail delivery vehicle and drives it from the front passenger side. On the route today, it failed to open for him during the route -- very inconvenient to move all that mail to get in and out.
He needs to take the inside door panel off but doesn't see how with having the door open.
My passenger rear door latch will not open. (06 Sonata 4cyl) It has no give when you pull it so I have to roll down the window and reach out.

Apparently the plastic connector/retainer to the door latch cable is broken off so that the handle no longer moves the cable.
Does the replacement door handle come with the connector/retainer to the latch cable?
To complete this repair, does the whole inner door panel have to removed or simply the assembly around the door handle?
I have a 1999 F350 and the passenger side front door suddenly will not open with the inner handle but it will open if I roll down the window and open it from the outside. The inside seems like it is locked but the locks are all working fine and all the other doors are working just fine .....
View 2 Replies99 k1500 (older body style). I saw older threads but didn't want to revive 11 year old threads. Door opens from the outside but not from the inside. Do I need to remove the whole interior door panel? What am I looking for? My auto parts store sells this, but it seems to require rivets (I don't have a riveter) so if I DO need this part, is there another way to install it?
View 3 RepliesI've got some front end noise in my 09 accent gls. Its the passenger side when it goes over bumps. I've seen online it may be the sway bar end linkage? I don't have air tools or do too much work myself, I just do the typical stuff on my own, oil changes, brake replacement, stuff like that...how hard is this job?
View 11 RepliesMy passenger side front and rear windows dont work. Both driver side windows work, just not the right side/passenger side.
Also when I press the master door lock/unlock switch on the driver seat, every door except the rear passenger door works. It stays unchanged so I guess it is not receiving a signal or something is not letting the signal reach the lock.
I slammed my door shut and now it wont open from inside or outside, I pulled the door panel off the top and took as many card bolts out as I could and pried the card to check things out, seems like everything is working the same as the passenger door which I could get completely apart for comparison. Cables are attached and both handles move the mechanism, the lock and unlock seem to be working, the handles move free and easily but don't seem to catch anything. How can I get this door open to take the mechanism out?!?
View 2 RepliesMy 04 audi a4 driver door will not open from the inside or outside. The bowden cable is a little loose but it has some tension, but even if that was broken i should still be able to open from the outside. the key fob will arm the alarm also.
And I can hear the door manually locking if i use the key also.i can arm the alarm only if i use the key to lock the door manually. but it will not open. i have to either crawl through the window or from the other side. Other than ripping the door panel apart and opening the door that way? Also the dash display shows the door is shut so that is a plus...
So a few weeks back the rear right door started to not open from the outside and now a cople of days ago the door wont open from the inside...
How can you open a door when the lock or something is broken both from the inside and outside do i have to unscrew the door from the brackets or what?
I took of the handle panel on the exterior of the car to adjust the rod so the door would open easier. NOW THE DOOR WONT OPEN AT ALL!
Its a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix SE.
I've tried removing the door panel from the inside, but it seems useless because the retarded vertical handles cant even be accessed from the door panel.
