Recently replaced the head and gasket on 2010 accent blue. Torqued to factory specs. There is an oil leak between the head and block in the front driver side. Can i tighten that bolt? Is there a break in period, do i need to re-torque or buy another gasket and head bolts?

View 6 RepliesI own a 2003 Toyota Camry with 195,000 miles. We have owned the car for about 6 years. It is now leaking oil from the drivers side of the head gasket. The oil has been leaking down onto the exhaust and smoking, and it has been getting worse and worse. This is a second car and is not used much, only once a month for short trips. Is there any temporary fix for this that can maybe get me through a year? Also, I have heard mixed opinions on how hard replacing the head gasket is, does the engine really need to be removed?

View 1 Replies2005 PSD 6.0L Excursion ... I suspect that have a fuel leak at the fuel line fittings near the driver side cylinder head. (I believe that it is fuel, since it is so clear, I guess I should collect a few drops and see if it burns vs. coolant.)
It appears to be at the junction of the fuel lines. This is the point where the fluid drops off the tubing and falls down. The clip that holds the two tubes together at the joint is very dirty, the one below them is clean. The tag on the line that is at the joint leaking is part number 3c34-9j338-ag. Is there a o-ring in side the joint? Do I need to replace both hoses of the joint? I can't find any posting of a history of this fuel line leaking.
Or... is it that the joint never fail, and the leak is up tube? I can't see any where it is coming out when viewing it from the top.
I don't suppose there is any easy way to clean this. I was going to remove a black cover directly above the bulbs but there is a notice on the black cover right behind it warning of tampering with air bag sensor. I assume its not in the front cover but looking further it doesn't look like I will have any access to the area I want to clean by removing it. 68k on 07 azera. Too soon for this,no?
View 1 RepliesSo i parked my car in the garage cause it was supposed to snow over night, well pull out this morning and there was a small wet spot, when to inspect it and it was oil, colorless, it came from front driver side, something is leaking, I popped the hood and looked down and i can see oil on plastic, on the bottom of the engine bay, where is this coming from? no light are on, and oil levels are all good? its a 2012 gti with 31k miles on it....
View 1 RepliesSo broke down today and have no tools, in a city I don't live in. Huge coolant leak behind the block on the passenger side. Luckily we broke down right at a mechanics shop. They need to take off the manifold to get to the rusted out metal piping in back.
I am new to the V10. Looking for information on what could be leaking back there? I know I could do this myself but I need to know what parts I might be dealing with first. And its tight quarters back there.
My driver side headlight is dim but not out. Passenger side is normal. Ive checked under dash fuses but maybe not the correct ones? These are brand new bulbs. I replaced them because my driver side went completely out with my hid set up.

There is a small oily leakage in the very front drivers side under the bumper. Its in front of the tire and as described under the bumper. I see some hoses in that area from underneath and a bit of oil-ly leakage from under the hood looking down into that same area.
So, what lurks behind the front bumper in front of the driver side front wheel? The oil leak seems like light oil, but ... are the oil cooler lines there?
Are the power steering lines there? Asking because I did recently have to fill the power steering reservoir from suddenly near dry (as far as I know) so that is a suspect. And yes, I filled it with the right stuff (pentosin).
My 1999 Honda Civic has a leak where the plastic meets the rug by the drivers side floor. It is a about 7-9" from where the driver door opens. It only happens when it rains. I tested the moon roof drain hoses. They work fine. What is causing this?

View 9 RepliesI have a 2003 Escape Limited 4WD with approx 163K on the clock. It developed a tranny leak from the front driver's side axle. The seal is new and in good shape as I just replaced the axle and seal a few weeks ago. (I checked the shaft size and surface finish of the axle and it is in spec.)
I just removed the axle tonight and discovered that the problem seems to be the bushing just inboard of the seal in the tranny. The axle has movement up and down when inserted. (Not good!) This is allowing the fluid to leak from the seal.
Here are my questions. Is this a simple DIY fix using a slide hammer type of puller (or similar), or is it time to take it to a tranny shop. I can not seem to find a replacement part listed anywhere.
Also, with this much mileage, should I have the tranny reworked as a precaution if this repair requires dis-assembly or should I just address the leak and think about dumping it? I would prefer to keep it as my kids are now driving age and this is primarily their vehicle. (It has been a great little truck!)
It leaks even when the car has been sitting when it rains and I can't see where it is coming in.

The kids are about to leave for Atlanta (from Iowa) and I am concerned that this could be a crack in the block based on some on-line discussion. Is it risky to send the kids on a 1000 mile trip without fixing?

I've been aware from other posts that it may be the Rack and Pinion, a power steering pump or a seal. There has been no noises in my steering when I drive and its steering well as it ever was. I am wondering is there a way to detect what of the three things it may be?, without taking it into a dealership or shop?

View 10 RepliesI have an oil leak on a 04 f250 6.0 stock. It has 292000 miles on her. It started as a few drips on the pavement about the size of a quarter and now has escalated to a steady trickle. It's on the driver's side in front of engine running down the corner of the block and dripping off the oil pan. I pulled intake plenum and everything and I thought it was coming out of the valve cover but now it looks like its just under the valve cover. It looks like its coming out of the front corner of the head. Its wet there and looks wet around the glow plugs. I cant run it now as I've drained the oil and coolant. I don't have a gauge or anything and its plain stock.
