Accent MC (2006-11) :: Hollow Pinging Noise When Shut The Car Off

I have had my 2010 Accent just over 2 months now, and have had no problems at all. It has 4500 miles on it (I travel often)
Starting on Monday, when I shut the car off, it made a kind of hollow pinging noise. I have not switched where I fill up my tank, nor have I been driving any differently, to make this happen. This happened again Tuesday morning, but has not happened since.
Then, this morning (Thursday) when I started my car, it made kind of a screeching noise. I immediately shut off the car, and restarted it. I did not hear the noise again. Then tonight, same thing happened.

Today I noticed a pinging noise on the highway when accelerating around 60 mph. It certainly doesn't sound like its coming from the lower end and it happened with the engine fully warmed up. I've always changed the oil on time, never has it overheated and it performs very well otherwise, no power losses.
No check engine light is on. In fact, I have heard this same noise on older cars I have owned (Cutlass Ciera) around the same mileage 105000. I am thinking of adding an oil additive, and I have heard that 1 Qt of ATF fluid followed by a drain and refill works well.
I might also do a fuel system purge, BG's has a good machine for that Could this be an EGR issue? Replacing EGR valve? If so was it easy and where is it located. I am hoping I didn't break a valve spring....

First noticed it several minutes after I shut the car off, then realized it was making the same noise while running.
I have never heard anything quite like this, including my A4 which runs much hotter than the Passat. Sounds like the exhaust is expanding and contracting...not sure why it would do that.

Today i drove 45 mins to the mall without incident. When i went to leave i noticed after starting the car my radiator fan came on and wouldn't shut off. Its 20 degrees (F) outside. Driving home there was a slight skip a few times going through the rev range while shifting. Later on today when starting the car it just cranked and didnt start until i put my foot on the gas peddle. Its done this everytime now since. (5 or 6 start cycles). A day ago i removed the stock air box and put on a cone filter, i had no issues until today. (24 hrs later) the car has 82k miles. Plugs were last done around 20k if thats relevant.

My Accent has 89000km (about 54000 miles) and has been pinging under acceleration...tried higher octane gas with no improvement.

I recently changed my spark plugs, timing belt, and PCV valve. I have a throttle bypass, air intake, only mods on the car. The car has been recently idling rough when in drive and at a light. basically the car wants to shut off but doesnt and the idle fluctuates. What it can be the car has 57k miles on it...

I have been experiencing pinging and crackling noises on acceleration from my vehicle it was purchased from the dealers May 2012. The problems started in October and I have been back and forth with the dealers for the same problems over and over and getting additional problems. Not to mention they keep saying that the problem is fixed and as I leave the compound I hear the noises.
I took it to have an independent scan from the dealer as it is now 5 months of run around with the issue not being resolved and I found out I have a bad ac compressor, steering rack and shock mount.

So a friends 09 Accent suddenly shut off while on the highway, she started it back up and drove about 1 more minute and it died again, and has not fired up since.
The only code was a P0342P (pending), cam sensor fault, went to the dealer and the master tech said it will run with a bad cam sensor and that it is likely the crankshaft position sensor. So we bought that ($116 with my military discount), no dice.
It cranks over smoothly (however I did not think to look at the cam through the cam sensor hole until after I had left)
I pulled a cop and checked for spark, it lit the fuel/air out of the tube, so yes on spark and fuel.
All relays were swapped, fuses are good.
I suspect the timing belt let go, as these are interference motors it is likely the motor is toast. Or any chance it is not?
She bought this car brand new, just put front tires on a few days ago and an oil change, 98xxx miles, white 2 door, 5 speed, looks good otherwise, and has been taken good care of!!

I have noticed for some time, over bumps that the cabin makes lots of noise. It doesn't sound solid, it almost gives a hollow noise when going over a bump or pot hole in the road. I hate that it doesn't sound solid. The noise resonates from the rear. Almost like a plunk, plunk noise.

I have just purchased a 2004 v 8 phaeton with only 12k miles. it drive great except that when I give throttle /acceleration there is a noise (low pitched- hollow). I do not know if this is a normal noise or something which i need to worry about and always the engine coolant temperature gauge is at 200 (which is in the normal range- not sure because the temperature outside is high 102f). it drives great and all functions are fine. Do I need to change something or take it to dealer. the local dealer recently changed oil .

In the morning when I back down the driveway with slight braking, the brakes make a loud hollow squeaky sound in a tunnel. The rear brakes were changed about 2 months ago.

Are there any common trim peices etc that are known to come loose and cause a rattle in our trucks? My truck has always rode fairly quiet/tight, recently with the rough roads & stiffer tires plus cold weather I have noticed alot of little rattles which are hard to narrow down sometimes. They drive me insane. So far I have noticed the rear RH suicide door was one culprit which I quietened by a couple wraps of tape around the striker, but I can hear more from possibly under the dash & rear of cab.
Also I swore that my box was coming lose, if I went over railroad tracks I could hear a hollow rattling noise that seemed to be coming from back there, I looked and all the mounts are fine & seem quite solid, but when an 05 similar to mine passed me on the street one day and I noticed his box shaking alot more than the average truck, then looked at my own in the sideview mirror and it appeared to be bouncing around more than I think it should. I am kind of OCD about rattles & squeaks and cant sleep until I shut them up

I bought a 02 accent base model hb 5 speed 109k miles for a winter car (have a mustang in garage.) It ran good until tonight when the timing belt snapped. I know this because while driving it made some ticking noises and then shut off and when you try to start it the noise that comes indicates no compression so the belt must've snapped and bent the valves.

I have a 2000 V70/XC volvo with 95K miles. I began hearing a strange hollow noise, like a whistle blowing. I took it to the dealership where I bought the car and they said it was the fuel pump. I asked them if it was bad and needed to be replaced and the said they weren't sure about having it replaced right away. They said sometimes it will make that noise and the fuel pump could last for months and sometimes for years. They even suggested to just drive it until it fails then replace it. some say it could never go out. But it bothers me because it is the car that my wife drives daily taking kids around and running errands and so forth. I am always worried that she could get stuck somewhere anytime. So I am not sure what to do.

My car has ~2500km on it now and I've noticed a whirring / knocking noise from the left side of the car Mk6 GTI. It's not loud (in fact, hardly audible at times) but it's there. It's most noticeable when I am driving slowly (~30km/h) at low rpms (1500rpm).
It's only when the car is in motion that I can hear the noise. I revved the engine in neutral and could not re-produce the noise.
I've tried adjusting the tire pressure but that didn't seem to work. It was at 38 psi and now at 40 psi. No diff in the noise level.
It sounds like a knocking (like two plastic tubes hitting each other) /whirring noise but I cannot pinpoint the source...or whether it's even under the car or the engine...but it's definitely the left side.

My 2013 Ford Escape SEL makes a metallic, hollow POP noise upon a cold start. It sounds like it comes from underneath the driver's side - a little towards the back end. The noise is very brief - half a second and then it's gone. It will do this relatively consistently both when it's cold and when it's hot outside, but usually only after the vehicle has been turned off for at least 3 hours or so.
My dealership can't get it to make the noise and they've had it for almost a week now. Most days the car will make this noise with me in the morning, for my lunch break and again when I leave work. My luck they have it 5 days and the noise up and leaves.
In the meantime, I'm driving a 2013 Ford Escape SEL 'loaner' and the loaner car made the exact same noise!

My 2008 ex Honda Civic. Engine: (140hp 1.8-Liter SOHC 16-Valve i-VTEC 4-Cylinder 5-Speed Automatic with Grade Logic Control).
In the mornings, when I start it, it shakes & makes a hollow shaking noise in the engine compartment. This noise is normally more noticeable after having it parked overnight or not driving it for a few hours. The shaking noise is more pronounced after being parked overnight, starting it, & also putting it in reverse. After driving it for 30min, the noise & shaking stops.

Just bought a new to me 2009 prius with 50k. Love the car thus far, and am learning more and more about the hybrid stuff.
One question i do have, that the dealer didnt explain well, was the planetary transmission. specifically the noises.
Its pretty quiet, but from a cold start, and into reverse, its the really odd noise. It sounds kind of like im backing a front plastic lower air damn off the curb. Like the hard, hollow plastic ka-klunk. it never does it from park to drive, or after a while of driving from park to reverse.
