Accent MC (2006-11) :: Dashboard Lights Went Off
Apr 15, 2012
I bought a 2006 Accent MC at the beginning of last month, got a new radio (Sony Xplorer) and asked my cousin to install it. He made the new radio work but went I decided to leave his place, the dashboard lights weren't turning on and the clock was off also. We tried to install the original radio back in but it didn't change anything, almost made it worse. Nothing was working at that point. Asked my other cousin to get a look, he finally made the new radio work (he burned a fuse and it wasn't working because of it) the clock went back on as well, but not the lights of the dashboard. He says the fuses are nice and he doesn't know what could be the problem. How is the radio related to these lights?

I have 2006 prius with 96k miles on it and regularly serviced. Today morning while driving to work, there were multiple lights that came up on my dashboard. The emergency (triangle) indicator, VSC, Engine check came up. I checked the battery and it was green.I have given the car for service to the showroom,

My 2006 V8 has starting problems since a few days ago.
After the problem occurred I was able to start the car using the right/left/right key turn but this worked only one time. Further attempts did not work. Upon the turn of the key all the dashboard lights would come up, the voltage appeared to come up over 12 volts but no joy on turning over the starter.
Vag Com scans on this car always showed some low voltage errors and the left side battery was old so I replaced the left side battery, something I had intended to do before too long anyway. After replacing the left side battery the car started once, not as it should but again using the right/left/right key sequence. I drove the car around the block and all seemed well, but after shutting it off, the same symptoms reappeared, no start...
Another poster had similar problems and it turned out to be relay 433 in the right side plenum relay/fuse box. I replaced this relay with a known good one, no change in the symptoms.
I disconnected the negative post of the starter battery, again after reading of another poster's experience, and the car starts right up ! Reconnecting the starter battery brings back the no start behavior.
I have no reason to suspect the starter battery, voltage is 12.6 or so...
Attached is a scan done on the car after installing the new left side battery:

I have a 2006 sonata and my alarm light on my dash board is blinking rapidly and then my blinker lights will turn on and stay on for a few seconds then it does everything all over again. My car has never done any of this except a slow blink in the red LED alarm light. I don't want my battery to die! Is there anything wrong with my car or is this normal?

I finally found the Prius I wanted. It's used. 2006. Gen II 220k miles. Bought at auction almost completely dead and no gas. After adding gas and driving so the main battery charges. It starts up great however the dash looks a little scary with nearly every warning light on.

I recently bought new Accent 2011 and drove it for a couple of weeks. Couple of days ago I noticed that only one out 3 Power Window Buttons lights up with when dim lights are on. Also there are no lights for power lock bottom. Is it the way it suppose to be or it is some sort of an issue? The only reason I noticed it, is that my driver side power window button lights up and the rest don't.

My wife's 2006 Honda CR-V has developed a mysterious issue where every minutes, and I mean to the second every 15 minutes, the car behaves as if the ignition switch was turned to the OFF position shutting off the engine. After about 10 seconds, the dashboard light blink as if the key has been turned to the ON and then we can start it. If we try to start it before the dash lights blink, the starter turns but nothing else happens. The immoblizer has been inspected and ruled out and, there are no error codes in the computer.

My dash board lights up for no reason. All the lights -- seat belt, engine, oil, etc. Also the speedometer goes from 0 to 100, the RMP needle goes from 0 to whatever and my gas tank need goes from empty to full to back to empty. In addition it is now loosing power --no gas is getting where ever so I must pump gas peddle to get it going again. It usually lasts only seconds and there is NO rhyme or reason to when it does it. I left it with a dealership and they drove it 265 miles and it did nothing. I got it back and within 48 hours it started doing it again. They did put in a new instrument cluster and it still continues.

I have 2006 Pt. Cruiser Touring with 150,000 miles on it. It has been well cared for with oil changes, tire rotations, tune ups, and preventative maintenance done regularly.
My problem is this. Sometimes when I drive the vehicle, all the warning lights on the dash board will light up, and all the gauges go dead. But the car keeps running and does not decelerate or lose power. The lights shut off within 3-6 seconds, with the seat belt lights being the last to go out. I have paid over $600 dollars for 6 hook ups to the computer at the dealer with no codes showing.
I have just replaced the belts, cam & crank sensors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, battery, alternator, hoses, water pump, timing belt, and it still does this. This morning when driving to an appointment, it did this again 3 times within 5 minutes. I had activated the cruise control when it did this. When I turned the cruise control off, it did not do it again. But in the past, this has happened when I was not using the cruise control. And it happens at all speeds, 60, 20, 35, or 40 MPH. What is wrong with my car.

I have a 06 sonata v6 with 120k. Today while driving the car started to lose power then the lights on the dash board flickered radio went nuts and the car lost all power. What could be causing this? Moved battery a little bit and got power back but then started driving and it did the same thing. I did have the heater on 2. You can feel it lose power while accelerating.

I want to wire my foglights so they operate independently from the headlights.
I'm thinking it was just grounding the green wire going to the switch but not positive.

So tonight i discovered that when I press the brake pedal, none of my brake lights turn on. When my headlights are on, the rear light bulbs are on, but no brake lights come on when i press the pedal, and high rear light is completely off (so i know that its not the bulbs). I am going to check the fuses tomorrow, what maybe be causing this?
its still under warranty, so i can always just take the thing to Hyundai if needs be. But i hate dealing with Hyundai because they have the WORST customer service i have ever had to deal with. They have nothing but a buncha mechanic school drop outs working there, so if its an easy fix- rather do it myself.

I have a 2010 Accent GS. I was trying to change the bulb in the trunk light. I changed the bulb and now none of the lights inside the car work-- map lights, dome light, trunk light. I figured it was a blown fuse. I looked at the fuse box inside the car and I think I found the fuse I think it's the one in that yellow box that is in the right side center of the fuse box. How do you pull that thing out? Are you supposed to pull out the individual fuses. I pulled the yellow box. It only comes half-way out. How do I check that little 10 amp fuse inside that yellow box?

So I went to get my '08 Accent inspected, and we observed that the right side and the 3rd brake lights were out. Replaced the bulb on the right side and still out. Not even going to attempt the 3rd light until I can get more info, because the odds of a complete LED strip quitting all at once are, well, remote enough to be laughable.
I checked the RH tail lamp fuse - connection still good. The left side brake light still works, so I'm doubtful that this is the notorious brake light switch that was recalled - unless such an issue has indeed been reported with said switch...

We recently purchased a 2008 Accent Hatchback. We've noticed that even though we turn the full lights on, the headlights are only as bright as the daytime running lights. We then tried the high beams by turning the knob, but nothing. The high beams only work when you hold the stick. We have replaced the bulbs.
