Had the car for less than a week and I'm getting a constant chirping/cricket sound, the moment I touch the clutch even slightly it stops. Sound is gone when clutch is touched in any way or engaged. My first thought is Throw Out Bearing, or perhaps pilot bearing?

The day after I purchased the Accent I noticed that when idle I would hear a chirping/cricket sound emanating somewhere in the engine bay area, closer to the cockpit of the vehicle. As soon as I'd touch the clutch the sound would disappear, now I'm not talking about pressing it hard, the ever so slightest touch would silence the noise.
Now I asked this question here already but I thought I'd ask you directly. I was told throw out bearing and other clutch related possibilities. Now I have a two year warranty so I brought it to the dealership and of course, Murphy's law wouldn't you know it, the sound did not present itself the entire time I was there! lol Now I came to the conclusion (albeit a total hypothesis ) that it was raining, or had rained the days the sound wasn't present or diminished enough that I couldn't hear it anymore. I figured maybe it's because they need new grease perhaps and when it rains the viscosity of the current grease changed enough to lube the part properly.
Either way the dealership of course said there's nothing they could find wrong with Eleanor, and I sh!t you not the moment I brought her back home it started making the sound again! Should I be worried? Last thing I need is the clutch or something else dying and I find out I could have prevented it.
I want to say that I love my prius but I am having an odd (although minor issue).
When I accelerate a I hear a noise (it sort of sounds like a cricket rapidly chirping, only a lower pitch or maybe a phone on vibrate).
What this could be?
I have a chirping/ squeaking sound in the engine extremely noticeable on idle. It's not the actual belt because it continues the noise much after the car is heated up. Have no clue what it is, I have 145000 miles. Also when running the engine hard notice a hissing sound sort of like turbo at high rpms especially with ac on high.
View 3 RepliesAs the title says, I have a 2013 accent with an automatic transmission and 63k miles. Just bought it, used. The car seems to be fine, except I've noticed that when I am giving the engine some gas and it has work to do, i.e. accelerating or going up a hill, it will squeek / chirp a bit, but only between 1800 and 2000 rpm. Its not very loud, and goes away when it's outside of that rpm range. It seems to happen more often once the engine is warm and when the car is already at speed, rather than when it's revving in park or accelerating from a standstill.

It's a bit quiet, sry about that, all I have is windows movie maker. The sound is present at 0:08, 0:16, 0:36, and 0:45.
Is this something I should worry about? I saw another thread which mentioned "dieseling", a sound like a diesel engine caused by a bad knock sensor, leading to incorrect ignition/valve timing. It sounds a little bit like a diesel engine to me, is this the same thing?
My car has been making this chirping noise for a couple weeks now, and I can't figure out what is causing it. It's really bothering me.
The noise is sinked in with the rpms. While in neutral or while I have the clutch in, the noise stops. The higher the rpms I'm running, the faster the sound goes. I opened the hood the other day to see if I could figure it out, but all I found out from that is it sounds like it's coming from under the engine cover.
Engine? Maybe a component near it? Maybe it's just the cold weather constricting parts to a smaller size?
For about the last month or so my car has been making a strange thumping kind of sound that is constant with vehicle speed. slow or fast. changed the rotors, pads, hardware, shoes and machined drums. also has a slight pulsation when coming to a stop. Thought it was the tires but they look good. can not find anything wrong.
View 10 Replies2007 Manual - I am getting a chirping noise/grinding noise. It happens in 3rd-5th gear and only for the first 15mins of driving. Stops making the noise after that. It happens sometimes when releasing the clutch pedal. Sometimes it occurs while accelerating and not touching clutch pedal at all. That mostly happens in 5th gear around 60mph. Thinking it has to do with trans, possibly throw out bearing. Not sure though.
View 13 RepliesSo my 2010 with 20k miles on it just started to have some jingling/chirping noises around the drive belt area. It isn't all that loud but i can hear it. Could this be just a simple loose belt? Are our belts auto adjusting or manually adjusted? The noise increases with engine rpm in all gears and in neutral. Is def coming from the belt area.
One pulley does seem like it is not perfectly round and I can see some very slight run out from side to side. Nothing really obvious though - that might be normal?
I've got an unknown issue with my 07 Accent (1.6L):
There is a low tone noise coming from near the upper area of the engine. It sounds like air or fluid traveling through a hose. The tone of the noise has recently become progressively louder, so that it is noticeable over normal road noise when driving. The noise does not fluctuate in tone or intensity with changes in RPM. However, the tone changes to a higher pitched frequency, almost like a hiss, when the clutch is fully engaged and held to the floor, both when in gear and when not in gear.
What the cause may be? And potentially required maintenance?
I was driving and heard a loud SNAP and now there is a constant sound of wind like a fan on high.

I can hear a "clicking" sound from the right side of the motor when the engine is slightly under load almost like a cam shaft that's operating without oil. I've done all the obvious things like check fluid levels and the such. My car has about 130,000km or 80000 miles on it.

View 3 RepliesI have one Hyundai Accent 1.4 from 2006 gasoline with 61.000 km. I have a strange problem. Sometimes the engine car stop while driving. This problem appear when i change from 5 to 4 or from 4 to 3 with ac on. Without ac the problem not appear. If i try to start engine again he start without problem. No error storage in ECU. I replace gasoline pump but the problem appear again.
View 2 RepliesMy 2011 Hyundai Accent 1.6 runs fantastic and has since I purchased it three year's ago until two weeks ago when my domestic partners friend changed the spark plugs, oil, air filter and stuff so I could go on a short trip and back. About 200 miles into it I pulled into a rest stop and noticed it was rough before I put it in park. As soon as I put it in reverse it was running rough and sounded like it was going to die. Forty miles later the check engine light was on and it was running terrible. A parts store recommended different spark plugs. A nice man who was there overheard the conversation and offered to put them in for me since I know nothing about doing. He said he gapped the spark plugs at 0.40? When I started it it ran like a dream until about 75 miles later and it began doing it again but the light never came on. It is doing the same thing which is a rough idle when stopped but it smooths out when I put it in park.
View 3 RepliesLast night I was driving home and my music was gone. All I hear was the constant chirping sounds and there is NO WAY to turn it off. I ended up pulling out the 30amp fuse under the pass side to turn it off. Sounds like the amplifier failed.
Driving to work ...I noticed the left (driver side) air vents are not following any air.
The two vents on the passenger side are working fine..but not the two on the driver side. Yeah I played with the settings, turned it on/off, Hi/Low air, close/open vents..nothing worked. What's going on with the air vent?
So, before I noticed a problem, all I had to do was a slight touch to the brake pedal, and the brake lights would come on. Now, they MAY just quickly flash and won't come on unless I really push hard on the pedal, such as at a complete stop.
I've noticed some issues with trying to lock-in 4W-LOW now too, and I know the brake pedal has to be pushed to engage 4W-LOW. Never had problems before now. 1999 F250 Superduty ...
When it's really hot out and I'm highway cruising my ac stops cooling for about 5 seconds when I let off my gas to slow down then I feel a small nudge and it's cold again.....
View 4 RepliesA few days ago code 0496 popped up for evap system problems. The fuel tank is very pressurized and there is a constant bubbling heard in the fuel in the tank with the gas cap removed. Sounds like blowing air through a drink with a straw. I have never had a problem like this with any car in over 45 years.

It only happens when I go on fairly long-ish drives (15+ minutes) and stops when I press on the brakes, only to resume when I let go of the brake. I have a brand new baby and don't feel safe driving her around in the car.
View 4 RepliesI have an automatic 2006 GLS Accent that is having a few problems. The engine will crank, but doesn't turn over right away. It might take a few tries, but will always start. This happens intermittently. Sometimes it will do it first thing in the morning, or sometimes it will happen later in the day after several start ups.
It has recently starting stalling while coming to a stop or sitting idle at a traffic light. This is also an intermittent problem. Always starts back up after a few tries.
The check engine light is not on. I have not taken it to a mechanic yet since it doesn't always do it, and will most likely be tricky to diagnose. What the problem might be? I was thinking it might be a crankshaft sensor?
