Bought brand new tires for my 08 Accent. Car still shakes when driving, even while doing 40 on the street. Haven't had the suspension looked at or wheel bearings but would like to know if any other MC owners have had this problem. Car currently has 61,703 miles on it and I am about to do the 60K service next week

View 24 RepliesI have a 2006 Hyundai Accent that won't start. My wife was driving home the other day, and while she was sitting at the light she said she noticed a sudden change in the idle. She said the car starting shaking a little and idling really rough. When she tried to accelerate after the light changed, she said the car sputtered and would barely go.
She was only a couple of blocks from the house so she continued home. The car made it the rest of the way home, but she said it never went over about 5 mph even though she was pressing the accelerator as she would if she were going about 30...the car just never responded. When she pulled into the garage the car died as she was turning. Now it will crank but it won't start at all.
I tested the crankshaft position sensor with my multimeter and it was bad. I bought a new one and put it on, and I tested it immediately. The new one works, so I plugged everything back in and tried to start the car...nothing, just cranks and won't start. It's getting fuel and fire as well (tested both), but it's not hitting on any of the cylinders.
My son phone me from his University saying that whole car was shaking when engaged in R or D. I thought it was a failed GB mounting but turn out to be the RH engine mount. I replaced it but got #3 cylinder misfiring and high idling (1500 rpm) from OBD2 reader.
Fitted new spark plugs and ignition coils swap but still same DTCs. We can hear the misfiring from the exhaust noise. However engine power is normal. But the newly fitted engine mount may not last with the misfiring not resolved. I have cleaned the throttle body too.
2007 Accent Hatchback. Put gas in it from an Exxon we have bought from before with no problems. My kids car, running on vapors, put 1/2 tank of gas in. Pulled out of gas station and car starts running really rough, shaking. Still running though. I have gathered some knowledge from other threads, like timing belt needs to be changed (65000 on car). I replaced the plugs as an initial attempt at correcting the problem. Runs better, not great. Saw a thread with changing to better gas, will try that.

Checked the codes at the parts store: P0300, P0301, P0303.
I just dropped it off at the auto repair shop.
Could it be a I'm just wondering if I shouldn't have taken it to the dealer as the printout says it could be a CPU issue?
My 2007 Hyundai Accent gs shakes really bad while I am accelerating at lower speeds. I thought the front driver's side tire was loose or possibly had an air bubble, but could find no evidence of such. The rim and the tie rod looks fine, but it is shaking bad. It pretty much stops shaking when i reach higher speeds (60+mph), but when I am stopped and need to accelerate or turn it gets frightening.
View 2 RepliesOur 2006 Forester started shaking very hard while idling or driving. We drove it to the dealer asap, but the violent shaking had stopped. They hooked it up to the diagnostic machine and everything checked out as fine. This problem happens intermittently so the mechanics have not witnessed it. We've even let them keep the car a week and drive it home and back and it never gave them the shaking problem. There is no pattern to when it happens - hot or cold engine, hot or cold outside, just started or been running for awhile, it just doesn't seem to matter. If we give it some gas while at a stop sign it smooths out a bit but it doesn't stop the problem. When driving it still shakes but it's harder to tell how hard. I'm talking about shaking very hard, not just a rough idle.

This problem appear when i change from 5 to 4 or from 4 to 3 with ac on. Without ac the problem not appear. If i try to start engine again he start without problem. No error storage in ECU. I replace gasoline pump but the problem appear again.

So my wife was driving today, in mildy wet conditions, around a turn at low speed. This occured during light acceleration to prepare to pull onto a highway, so the brake pedal was not engaged. She says that she felt both front wheels lock up simultaneous, and unexpectedly. The rear wheels continued to roll, but caused the car to slide sideways off the road. The front brakes did not release for several additional minutes. Then she pulled off the side of the road and drive ~1/4 mile to park the car at our home.
From researching on the internet, I saw that there may be a problem with the brake master cylinder, or possibly contamination in the brake fluid. The brake fluid has not been serviced recently, and the brakes are a few months old. No other problems or strange noises we have noticed before this. The service center is not able to take us in for a few days, and given the safety concerns, I do not want to service it myself without being able to definitively diagnose what the issue is. The last thing I want is to service "A" and find out the hard way it was a problem with "B".
How I would confirm that diagnosis, and then initiate the repair?

About two weeks ago I was told my tires were worn and I was experiencing what felt like a slight slipping sensation when turning corners on the highway. Mechanic chalked this up to my tires being worn. They checked them out and my passenger rear tire was significantly worn on the inside tread...
I replaced all four tires...I have checked the pressure and it is at 30psi as indicated on the inside of the driver side door.
Now when I'm driving on the highway I experience what can be described as a rocking sensation (as if you were on a boat) sometimes when driving straight and almost always when making left turns....once the rocking starts if I slightly turn the wheel to the right it goes away.
I'm thinking something with the rear passenger side is causing this as the compensation would appear on the drivers front (correct?!) and the worn tire gives it away...just wondering what component I should start looking at first and what cost I might be looking at.
The issue that I'm having is that when going up hills, the car like automatically starts slowing down basically losing power seems like. I have to put it in low gear and even so it sounds like its straining to get up the hill. No more than 20mph and then begins to drop lower. When going up drive way I have to make a complete stop and then proceed else it will stall. Also, when at stand still in traffic car shuts off. Sometimes I can feel it vibrate before it shuts off other times it just shuts off. took to western auto and they don't know whats wrong with any of the issues. They just said there is nothing wrong with my idle and to put a gas cleaner in when i full the tank up, that didn't work.
View 9 RepliesMy 2006 hyundai accent makes a humming noise while driving. it gets louder the faster i accelerate. I have checked the wheel bearing but they appear to be fine. i jacked the car up and tested the wheel by pulling and pushing back and forth at the 12 o' clock position and etc. no give in either wheel. i also held the spring and spun both wheels with no vibration. I also rotated tires back to front. when i did this noise seemed to be lower.But still there. I did hit a fallen sign on the highway going 70 mph. I am wondering if this may have damaged my tires or if it still could be wheel bearing. and there is no vibration in steering wheel or while driving. just annoying humming.

View 13 RepliesI just bought a 2011 accent 5 spd ... Quick question, when I drive it at highways speeds. (65mph) I notice that i am running around 3500 revs. Is that normal? It seems a little high to me. Every other 4 banger I had never ran that high in 5th gear at 65 mph.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2008 Accent SE and I'm having some issues... The car was driving fine the other day all the sudden check engine light came on started flashing then and just stayed on. This happen before and the car was under warranty so the dealership fixed it but now it ran out and it's happening again. Anyway the car is running very rough at idle like the car shakes and acts like it doesn't want to run. Also when driving it honestly feels like the car has no power or acceleration what so ever. I replaced the air filter with a brand new K&N filter, I also changed the spark plugs today. I put NGK's in and the problem is still the same. I had it hooked to a code reader and it said I had a misfire in cylinder 2. I thought the plugs would have fixed it but I guess not.
View 9 RepliesI have an accent 2006 GS Sedan. I bought this as used recently. Noticed that the lights are not powerful at nights. When I turn on the lights there is no changes in the power of the driving / low beam lights.
Whether this is the standard with accent 2006. Other vehicles I have with me changes the power of the light and in this case there is no changes at all. I bought extra powerful bulbs and put them and there was a slight change, but there is no change between the driving lights and the low beam.
2007 Manual - I am getting a chirping noise/grinding noise. It happens in 3rd-5th gear and only for the first 15mins of driving. Stops making the noise after that. It happens sometimes when releasing the clutch pedal. Sometimes it occurs while accelerating and not touching clutch pedal at all. That mostly happens in 5th gear around 60mph. Thinking it has to do with trans, possibly throw out bearing. Not sure though.
View 13 RepliesWas driving down the highway and got a smell in the car, thought it might be diesal from the truck in front. When I got off and came to a stop, car would not accelerate at first, it hesitated and a puff of grey smoke came out of the back. Stopped for a few minutes everything seemed fine then the check engine light came on. I have managed to get it up with just a couple of rattles, but the check engine light is still on. Have I killed the car by driving it home. The light was not flashing it was completely on.

My Parking Brake/Low Brake fluid Level Warning Light will coming on while driving and then all the gauges drop down. The light goes off and the gauges come right back up. All this happens within 2-4 seconds maybe. And usual happens maybe once every 6-7 times I drive it so not all the time.
I am driving, not braking so even more confused.
