Another issue to my Accent 2009 model, when I switched the key to Ignite, I can hear a low pitch buzzing sound somewhere in the front of driver seat, maybe in the steering wheel column or under the dashboard I don't know. Even when I already started the engine, or even when I am already running slow or fast, the sound is still there. What is that sound?
View 1 RepliesI just wanna know what is this low pitch buzzing sound on my left headlight when I switched key to ignite? When im outside the car, i can hear it in my left headlight. But when im inside the car, i can here it inside the high&low control of headlights (with numbers 0 1 2 & 3).
Before, when I am adjusting this control, the sound suddenly disappear for a second then it comes back. When im trying to push this control, the same. But now whatever adjustment or pushing to the control i am doing, the sound is still there continuously irritating to my ears.
My car model is Accent 2008....
My left headlight has been going off periodically, so to confirm that it's the bulb, tonight I switched the bulbs from left to right/right to left.
The job went very smoothly. It took me about 20 minutes, but I took my time. I buttoned everything back up and turned on the lights. Both sides came on, but I immediately noticed a very loud buzzing/whining sound coming from both headlamps. It is very loud and I know I would have noticed it before at some point over the course of the last three years that I've owned the car. Obviously, this is not normal, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I could have done wrong, if anything.
The engine turns over but does not ignite. I can hear the fuel pump priming or humming for about 2 seconds when key is turned to "on".
My car was hit the night before in a parking lot by a truck backing up. He hit the rear right rocker panel and part of the tail light. Could this have anything to do with it? I drove it home fine, it just wouldn't start the next morning.
At first I thought fuel pump, but after reading some threads here, they seem to say if I hear it hum it's working.
My wife has a 2009 Accent base model. I recently heard a kind of buzzing from the speakers when the bass hits but it does not sound like they are blown, more like something is loose. How do I get to the speakers from above to check things out and see what it looks like?
View 7 RepliesOK, car has 94K miles, never had anything done to it, and the timing belt stripped out a bunch of teeth and bent the valves, you know the usual deal.
Pulled the engine apart, and order a head gasket set and scored a low miles head from a salvage yard. I was told the engine it came from was running fine but had a damaged timing cover so they parted out the engine, when i got the head the timing belt gear was bent and cracked, but i couldn't see any other damage and all looked good so i put it all in, and after having some trouble getting good info on where the timing marks are suppose to go i got it all back together and went to fire it up, start and die a couple times, i figured it was the fuel system re-priming itself, car starts and is running rough, i give it a few small revs and above about 2K it seems to run fine, but has def misfires at idle.
While i was looking around the engine bay checking over stuff i can hear a definite buzzing sound coming from the injectors, which i can tell you isn't normal, and is causing my problem i believe. The injector plugs are pretty straight forward, so im pretty sure i have them in the right spots.
The CEL came on, and i plugged in my code reader but was unable to connect to the ECM for some reason. Are these cars can bus?
So my 1.6 accent (140,000) decided to no longer start. Just keeps cranking but doesn't ignite. Plugged a scanner in and it's the crankshaft position sensor. How difficult is this to get to? From what I've ready its just held on one end by a 10mm bolt and the older end is just a connector, but it looks like it might be in a pain in the ass location. Does anything need to be taken off first to access? Should this take less than 30 min?
View 1 RepliesI have a 06 accent sedan and I have been having some issues with the back brakes that were just replaced prior to the motor vehicle being done the end of June. I had the brakes replaced and everything was working fine up until the middle of last week; now the brakes in the back are squealing like the warning plates are rubbing together again (loud high pitch squealing) what could be causing this...I took it back to where I had the brakes replaced and they did a check and said that it did not look like anything was wrong and they asked me when my front brakes were replaced, I told him they were replaced last August when I have a issues with a caliper freezing up and had to replace everything in the front (brakes, caliper etc). So long story short he said to keep driving and see if you can tell if the squealing is coming from the front or the back and come back when its happening or if you can determine which one it is..
View 13 Replies2003 Hyundai accent GL 5spd has new rings/bearings/lifters and all gaskets (when i got the vehicle it over heated to the point it shut off ) figured it was just a head gasket so replaced it found out rings were shot.. so that's the jist of it. okay so she's timed right spot on but when I go crank up the car it cranks over fast and i have to feather the throttle to get it to startup the IAC makes a weird buzzing sound and wouldn't idle right so i unplugged it and it'll idle fine. When it would finally crank up and idle she drives really well put about 20 miles on her so far just the starting issue pissing me off. I'll post a vid of it trying to start for better description...
View 1 RepliesI have a 09 f150 with 160,000 on it. For the last couple months I was hearing an occasional buzzing sound from the engine compartment. Couldn't duplicate it while not driving. The buzzing sound has changed somewhat but it's follow by a grinding sound that seems like the hubs are trying to lock while in 2 wheel drive. I think the buzzing is coming from either the IWE solenoid or the vacuum check valve. My question is this. If I pull the vacuum line off the the solenoid and plug the line will the hubs remain locked till I can dig into this a little deeper. I was thinking that they would stay locked. I should still be able to shift in and out of 4 wheel drive correct?

My Prius is a Gen3 2015 model 2.
I was in the process of troubleshooting a quick to die battery tonight (ignition on and if you put a load on it like radio and headlights, a few minutes later it needs the booster pack. ) During this time I discovered a loud buzzing coming from the top part of the intake manifold (ignition on but engine not running.) As my battery drains, this noises this thing makes change. I started the car up and let it run for a sec, then back off/ignition back on and it stopped buzzing.
On a side note, the car has been idling like dump for the last month or so. Sometimes it's smooth as silk as it always has been when stopped at a light, other times you can feel a rapid vibration in the steering wheel, seats, and floor. To the point where stuff rattles sometimes. It's definitely at its worst when the engine is cold. I was hoping it was worn out plugs, but they've just been replaced and it still doesn't run right.

In the past few days, our car (2006 Prius) has begun making some louder-than-normal noises while driving. I've determined that the noise appears when you turn the wheel at all to the right (note: not just making a right turn...any degree to the right past straight is enough). It seems to be constant when the car is running, but really only becomes perceptible around 30 mph. The sound is sort of like a buzzing. Maybe a grinding, but not quite. It sounds like it might be similar to this issue (2006 Engine Noise - buzzing, especially loud on highway | PriusChat), but I can't quite be sure.

The sound is distinctly coming through the speakers in the car, but turning the radio volume knob doesn't make it quieter or louder (though turning the radio completely off makes the sound stop). The sound persists until the car warms up, then the buzzing sound slowly fades away, and the voice/song on the radio slowly comes back until the buzzing sound is completely gone.
I recently took my car to a mechanic to have the timing belt and head gasket replaced, and the mechanic couldn't figure out what the problem was. What could be the root of this problem? 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5 ...
I recently became the owner of a 2001 accent with 73k on it. The clutch needed changing on it so after stripping all that out when I put it back together I noticed that the fan switched on for about 20-30 seconds after turning the engine off. I've also had to disconnect the maf because it was running very lumpy after everything went back in. I'm not worried about the maf its only a few mine job to change. I'm just wondering if it's normal for the fan to come on like that?

My Air Condition is having some problem. when I switch on the AC the air flow very low from the vents, even i put the fan speed is full (4) feels like fan switch is in low (1). The blower giving sound like it is giving air like more than full speed. fan speed selector switch working ok, because the speed of the air vary from the 1 to 4 positions. also i feel very low cooling in high speed also. i found one more problem that if i change the air flow switch to defrost level, the air flow is coming through the windshield defrost vents and the floor vents. if the switch selected to Floor-Defrost Level also the air coming through the both ways. What could the problem.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 Elantra GLS with approx 60,000 miles. Recently, without fail, a buzzing sound occurs when changing the vent control knob from floor to vent and vice versa. The sound lasts for about 2 seconds and sounds like it may be coming from the area behind the steering column. All the climate control systems work fine and the buzzing noise only occurs when changing the vent setting. At this point it is just a nuisance as everything seems to be working fine, but in my searching of the forums can not seem to pinpoint what the issue may be.

View 5 RepliesMy wife has a 2009 VW Passat 2.0T and I gave her a Garmin for Christmas. I'd like to wire it directly into a switched 12v power source. I know this is a common question on car forums but my searches for "12v switched power source," "12v," and "switched power" in the Passat B6 forum didn't turn up anything of use. Where I can find a good cord to tap into? I'll be using a vampire clip but am not opposed to using a fuse tap if someone knows of an open switched fuse spot.
View 2 RepliesIn the last week our Egg has begun to randomly decide to turn on a "parking light" on the passenger side of the vehicle when the car is turned off. This doesn't happen every time. But when it does, the amber light in the front and one in the cluster in the rear (both on the passenger side) turn on while the car is off. Also in the display in the instrument cluster you get "PARKING LIGHT SWITCHED ON" and a very loud warning sound.
I wasn't aware that our Egg's had a "parking light" feature and how to turn it on or off. More importantly I don't understand why this is coming on when it does. When it comes on, I can restart the car, turn it off and most times it turns off.
My radio hasn't worked for over a year. I've gotten used to driving with my headphones on, but now I want to get to the bottom of the problem.
I have an 06 Accent. The radio powers on and I am able to flip stations and put a cd in and out. I just get no sound.
I tried checking the audio fuses. I can't check one of the fuses because its connected to the yellow memory fuse. I can't get the fuse out without breaking the plastic case. Is there a way to remove the fuse without breaking the case?
Another thing I just noticed is when I turn on the radio I hear a pop coming from the left rear speaker. I don't know what that means. How to get sound back.
