My accent won't start anymore. When I turn the key, I hear a series of clicks, but the car won't start. When I put the key in the ignition, lights/radio/wipers all work fine. It's a 2008 manual car.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 Accent with a 1.6L engine. My son drove it yesterday with no problem. This morning when he tried to start it we would get a click from the starter when he turned the key and that's all. Tried jumping it. That didn't work. So I jumped to conclusions and replaced the starter. I have the same problem. Click.
I have taken the old starter and the battery to AutoZone and had them both tested. They both work fine. (They'll let me return the new starter if I want to remove it). I've cleaned the battery terminals and cable clamps. I still get the same click. What I did notice tonight after all of this is that when I turn the key the cable end/terminal clamp on the positive terminal SMOKES!
My 2008 Accent will intermittently crank crank and will not turn over. You can hear it trying to start but it seems like its not getting fuel. Then I will stop turning the key, try again and it will start. It may do this two or three times before starting. I have no codes.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2004 f150 fx4. Drove it home and parked it. Next morning wouldn't turn over. When trying to start the starter relay clicks but no noise from starter. Battery light and wrench light are on. I thought maybe battery was low but when I hooked up charger gauge showed good battery. What do I do next? Also there is no "theft" light...at all not even when I first turn key on.
View 1 RepliesDrove the car yesterday all was fine. Came home and shut it off. Went to start it about an hour later and the ignition key will not turn. Tried a second key and still no luck. Disconnected the battery and waited for about 10 mins. Reconnected battery still no luck. Wiggled steering wheel and shifter (automatic) still no luck.
View 16 RepliesMy 2007 Accent will not start. It doesn't turn over. All it does is beep when I turn the key. It is a long high pitched beep, followed by three sets of two shorter beeps. The engine doesn't turn over at all. The dome light works, as does the radio and dash lights, so I don't think the battery is dead.
I'm wondering if its a starter problem, but the beeping must be some kind of error message, right?
My car Mk4 Gti has not been starting recently, showing all the symptoms of a dead battery. When I try to start it clicks or sometimes if there's more juice the engine attempts to turn over once or twice.
The weird thing is this started happening in conjunction with my monsoon head unit randomly dying. The radio was dead for a while and my battery would randomly die. Then I fixed the radio by reseating the fuse on the back and the problem went away.
Just today I started my car and everything was fine sitting in my driveway. Then I noticed that the battery light was on, and then my head unit died. I turned my car off to try and fix the radio issue and then it wouldn't start back up. Not sure what the issue is.....
My 2008 Accent has a manual trans and 4-Cyl, 1.6L. It had some bad fuel 4 weeks ago, and filled the tank with 97 to clean it back up.
I was driving and came to a stop sign - the server stopped and wouldn't start up again. I was worried about the fuel pump, and ended up replacing the whole thing (under the passenger seat).
I have tested the following:
- When cranked, the bottom of the spark plugs are wet (so gas is getting to the plugs)
- When plugs are pulled out, they spark against the block (so spark should be getting to the cylinder).
The car still doesn't start, and the cranking sounds 'off'. I can't exactly describe what's wrong, but I've had it for six years and it doesn't sound right.
I have that annoying squeal when I start my car and when I turn my steering wheel (also noticed I can't turn the wheel very well as it feels dodgy, as in the belt catches then lets go if that makes sense). Now once the car warms up it usually doesn't happen again but obviously I want to rectify this as my car draws enough attention at start up but this is getting ridiculous. I checked my power steering fluid and it's bad, brown and has some sediment so it needs changing for sure but here's my problem;
How do I check things to make sure I don't get ripped off at the mechanic? I'm sure a power steering flush and re-tightening of the belt will probably fix it as I've only but 40K on the belts since ikilledbarbie and I changed all of them out. Whay I don't want to have happen is go in and hear "oh you need to replace XYZ" when the problem really is only ABC if you catch my drift.
Car died while driving home. Now it wont start. The tow truck driver that towed me home swears that the timing belt is out. Car makes spinning noise when I try to start it. I plugged in my code reader and got P0342 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Low Input. Not sure where to go from here. Do I replace the sensor or take it in to have the timing belt done? 109,000 miles.
View 7 RepliesI'm having an issue with my 08 Accent GS. It is very difficult to start, but only after fueling. Any other time, the car starts without any problems. I have tried to simulate the issue at home by taking off the gas cap and replacing it, but it didn't have the same result.
View 8 RepliesI have an 08 accent gls hatch that stalled the other day and wont start. Replaced the crank and cam sensors as well as the map and purge valve. Now it sputters and stalls with the fuel pump jumped. Has spark ans well as fuel at rail. What am i missing- no engine codes...

View 4 RepliesThe timing belt broke in my gf's '08 accent recently and I decided to have a crack at replacing the belt after getting a quote for $900 from the nearest mechanic (with no guarantee it would fix the problem).
When re-aligning the cam and crank to TDC, I wasn't sure if it mattered which revolution the crank was on (ie. 1st or 2nd revolution) when putting everything back together. I tested rotating the engine with the new belt on slowly to make sure there was no contact and everything seemed ok.
So basically now everything is back together, tried starting it up and it won't start and now i'm wondering if it would make a difference or not if the crank was rotated 1 additional revolution. Otherwise there is more significant damage.
I just bought a 2008 Elantra and I really like it. I've never owned a Hyundai before. So it really feels like I'm driving on air. Very futuristic and quiet!
I notice the A/C blue light blinks/clicks on once in a while even when the A/C is shut off. Is this a typical thing?
So I 2003 6.0 F350 that is a Dually. Been sitting in my yard for about two years now. I turn the key it just clicks and it doesn't crank. It cranked for a while and that started ran rough. Then it just died. I did not start again. I did this during winter so the engine have time to cool off it was about below freezing. Done this multiple times and drove up and down in my backyard but not on the road. What could be wrong with it. Either way I put in diesel 911 and more fuel but and I change the filters with Motorcraft OEM filters. Sure that the caps were right.
View 14 RepliesI drove from office to home today. After 30 min, the remote unlock worked fine, got into the car, turned the ignition to "A" and "ON". All the dashboard lights, headlights and radio turned on. When I turned the key to "START" , car won't start and all the lights and radio turned off. There was no cranking and any other noise from engine. Removed the key and tried again. Now there is no power at all. Not sure what happened.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 accent 1.6L ... It's been like this for a while, but when filling up, it clicks and stop filling like if it was full, but it is not. I can maybe get 0,30$ worth of gas in before it clicks. Then I have to wait a couple of seconds, and do it again.
I have read that it might be the charcoal filter that is clogged. Is there any way to fix this? from what I have read this filter is inside the gas tank.
I have myself changed the oil and filter in my Accent 2013 for the 1st time; after the change everything looked fine, no alarm lights, oil level is OK, no leakages, etc.
However. when I turn off the car I hear beeps coming from the engine, I hear relay clicks and after some seconds the sounds disappear.
When I had the oil changed at an oil shop, this didn't happen. Again, I see no alarms on the driver panel.
My starter clicks once when i turn the key, yet when i brought it in to have it tested it passed twice. I took one of the spark plugs out and pulled on the belt thinking maybe some antifreeze got in a cylinder and saw the piston moving up and down so i its not seized.
