Accent LC (2000-05) :: Gear Stick Is Floppy - No Resistance In Gearbox

l got a problem with my 01 hyundia accent I have no gears at all,the gear stick is floppy. I have looked at the linkage from the stick to the gear box it's all ok but as it enters the box it has no resistance. The clutch is about 1year old.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: When Clutch Is In Gear Stick Will Not Move In Any Direction / Completely Stuck

Bought a 2001 hyundai accent 1.3 si petrol manual 2 weeks ago. After pulling off today, i went to go into 2nd gear, and I couldn't move the gear stick. I parked up and turned the engine off, then started the ignition again. When the clutch is in, the gear stick will not move in any direction, its completely stuck, but when the clutch is out, the gear stick will move in all directions.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Gearbox Stiff And Jamming

I own an Accent 2000 model Manual Transmission. When the motor gets hot , the gear lever become increasingly hard to move and eventually locks. i.e., after say 10 minutes.

If I stop the car, turn the motor off, the gear lever moves freely. Start the car up again and the gears seem to work for a while.. then it locks up again.

This happened about 2 months ago.... seemed to fix up for a while.. now its back permanently. I changed the trans oil.. it made no difference..

The cable to the trans seems ok.. When the motor is 'off' it never jams. BUT i am not using the clutch then !! Could it be clutch.??

Ford Transmission :: Gearbox Stick Shifter?

with the gearbox stick shifter and housing for it. This has a remote gear selector as the truck was a C.O.E. so gearbox was behind the cab. I have seen these gearboxes with a stick shift coming straight out of the top of the box, which is what I need but my gearbox case is different although the 6 bolt fixing for the gear selector looks the same. What I need is someone to crawl under their truck and get the 10 digit model number off the truck gearbox which has a stick shift so I can cross reference the part numbers to see if the stick shift will fit my box.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2 Different Sounds (Whine And Grinding) From Engine / Gearbox

I have a 2003 my04 accent, 1.6l, manual. I have 2 different noises coming from the engine bay. Iv'e got a video of one of them, you'll have to listen through headphones though to hear it properly, I'll post below. The noise will be echoed off the car shelter so bear with me. It sounds like a whine. You can hear it when I start revving it just after half way, and it is constant even when I am driving, becomes more noticeable as the RPM's climb.

The second noise I'm pretty sure is coming from the gearbox or surrounding areas. And it sounds like something grinding. It only happens if the car is straining I.e going up a hill in to high a gear. Or after I change gears and it sounds just before 2000RPM and fades out after 2200RPM . What could this be?

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Crank Position Sensor Shows No Resistance When Cranking

I'm working on a family members car. We pulled out the old motor and put in a new one because the old one has rod knock. We're not getting ANY spark. Crank position sensor shows no resistance when cranking. The harness at the crank position sensor shows no voltage. The both coils measure 1.5ohms.

The only two bits of the harness that are in questionable locations are the grounds next to the ignition coil and the passenger side strut tower ground. I have the strut tower one to the closest bolt on the intake manifold and the coil pack grounds to the coil pack bracket.

The car has plenty of fuel and good cranking speed, just no spark. I verified using a timing light (no flash) and spark-plug short-to-ground. The old engine WAS running and all of the sensors on this one were swapped over from the running one. Also, the tach doesn't move when cranking.

Is there something that's commonly overlooked, or something that could be causing the issue searching showed it could be the crank position sensor, but like I said, I pulled the working one off the running engine.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2004 - Clutch Lost All Resistance / Hard To Get Into Reverse

I'm not very mechanical when it comes to cars. I have never had any clutch issue with my car. I arrived to work yesterday fine. When I started to leave it was incredibly hard to get into reverse and I had to force shifting after I left and the clutch had also lost all resistance and I could easily push it all the way to the ground. What could be a cause of the clutch always working perfect including the last time you drove it, and then 8 hours later you start up and it has done a 180. The fluid level is fine. I would presume if my clutch had went I have have slowly noticed it going.

Hyundai - Accent :: 2004 - Shift Stick Is In Neutral But Transmission Is In Gear

I have a 2004 Hyundai Accent, has 167k miles on it. Transmission has 80k, put in at about 155k. Came home from Tahoe, and the next day, I tried to go to work, and the gear shift was stuck in first. Hadn't had the money to get anything fixed, but when I finally got it looked at, was told I needed a new clutch and possibly a new flywheel. Been cleaning it out to sell, and today I started it up and realized that the stick is in neutral and moves back and forth freely, but the transmission is in gear. I know that, because I had to keep my foot on the clutch to keep it running. What would cause that? I'm hoping it's something easy and cheaper to fix, because I love this car and am not ready to part with it just yet. The clutch doesn't have that many miles on it either, maybe 10-15k, if that. I've had the car for almost ten years, so it's not poor driving, on my part.

Feel resistance going from neutral to 1st sometimes (and 4th to 5th or reverse)?

It doesn't happen all the time, but it doesn't feel very smooth. It feels like something is rubbing against the stick. When I reset to neutral and try it again, its smooth as butter.

Passat (B5) :: Can't Shift Into Any Gear While Starting - More Resistance In Clutch Pedal

Just went to leave my apartment and I get at the first traffic light and put it into neutral. Light turns green and I try to put it into first and it won't let me... In fact I cannot shift into any gear while the car is started. Put the flashers on and I am stumped. There was also more resistance in the clutch pedal as soon as this happened.

I turned the car off and tried wiggling it into any gear. For some reason while the car is off I can put it into any gear. So I had to put the car in first gear and start it and limp it home. I had to rev the engine to about 2,800 - 3,000 RPMS in order to get the car to bite and take off. Shifting into any other gear while driving was a hassle and it felt like there was a lot of resistance.

Just did some quick Vwvortex recon and some people are saying that it is a broken pressure plate? Pressure plate welds itself to the clutch? Or possibly a throwout bearing? Also what Transmission is in a 2003 Passat 1.8T Engine code AWM.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Shifting Too Slow - Resistance Moving Into Or Out Of A Gear

I have had the habit of manually shifting down to slow my 2005 GX since new. Only have 55,000 mi so not really a high mileage or worn out yet.

Now the other day there was a resistance moving into or out of a gear (can't remember which) at a time where I needed to get moving so used some extra oomph to try to complete the change and seemed to have a resistance ..... and then felt what I guess was something plastic break.

Now the selector does not stay in 4th when moved left but springs back to "D". Also feels as if the spring resistance is less. All seems looser.

What am I looking at for repair and what is really amiss? Where is a diagram to see the broken parts and how to access it? ---- Part #?

Accent LC (2000-05) :: GL Throwing Itself Into 3rd Gear

I have a 2005 Accent GL with about 130k miles. When I start driving it, it seems fine for a little while, then it will throw itself into what I believe is 3rd gear and won't shift out of that for the remainder of the drive. The check engine light is also on now. I had my transmission flushed maybe 6 months prior to the first occurrence.

I took it to a transmission shop, they read the code, and then wanted $485 just to look at the transmission. I believe the code said "3rd gear incorrect ratio," but it could have been 4th gear too.

Is this a common issue? Is it likely a sensor or the transmission itself?

Elantra HD (2006-10) :: Resistance When Shifting Into 2nd Gear Despite Clutch Being Fully Depressed

I bought a 2010 Elantra Blue in November. It has 1200 miles on it now, but as early as the 2nd week or so I became aware that there is occasionally resistance shifting into 2nd gear despite the clutch being fully depressed. It can also make a slight "crunching" noise after passing through the neutral position and fully into 2nd (though this sound is distinct from grinding, it's not the same as if you were grinding the gears). I've tried a million times to narrow down the cause (i.e. cold weather, low RPM shifting, high RPM shifting, slow shifting, fast shifting, gentle shifting, strong shifting) but every time I think I got it, and have corrected it, it happens again anyways.

Just bought a 01 Accent hatch the other day. It's a 5 speed 4cyl. First gear through 4th have no problems. If I try to shift into 5th gear or reverse, the car doesn't want to go into them. Accent LC (2000-05) :: Car Shift Violently Between 2nd And 3rd Gear

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent GS Hatchback, the car has about 41,6xx miles on it. When i drive it between 2nd and 3rd gear it shift violently, its almost like it shifts due to pressure, it also happens when it downshift too. Also the reverse went out, i can hear the pump running and it goes into reverse but when i press on the gas it acts like it in neutral. This is a daily driver for me.

I have a 52 Reg Accent MVi and, occasionally when changing down into 1st gear, My gear stick sometimes doesn't want to go into place, or it will go into place but the car will still be in neutral.

Also, sometimes, when it feels like it hasn't quite gone in right, and i lift off the clutch, the car gets stuck somewhere in between gears and cant move, and i have to yank the gear stick (quite hard) back into neutral.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Clunk While Shifting Into Second Gear

I have a 2005 Accent GL (4dr Sedan) base model, 5 speed. I live in Canada (not sure if that will play a part); I notice that when I shift from first to second there is a 'clunk', not really a grind, and not a major clunk... but it's noticeable. As the car warms-up, it seems to be less pronounced (or maybe I start to ignore it). Is this something to worry about? or could it be the clutch plates.

I have had lots of bikes with wet clutches and this is 'normal' for a bike going into first gear. With the bike it's due to what I call Hydrolic-stick ... (2 or more) plates 'sticking' when you let the clutch out, one spinning faster than the other. Off topic now...

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Transmission Is Popping Out Of 4th Gear

I am having a issue that my transmission is popping out of 4th gear on my Accent, particularly on inclines. Have had the transmission (gear) oil checked and filled (was low) and thought that may have been the issue. Got it back from the mechanic and less than an hour later is popped out of 4th 2 times in a 5 minute period. It has only popped out of 4th gear, has not happened from any other gear. I have no check engine light or any other 'idiot' lights that come on when it happens. (Other than replacing the clutch...which I hoping I don't have to do ) cause that's a trip to the mechanic again...

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Engine Will Rev Up 100 RPM Or So When Trans Is In 3rd Gear

My car has started to do something odd. Whenever I am in 3rd gear, at about 2000-2200 rpm, the engine will revup 100 rpm or so and then back down (only for a split second). This only happens on 3rd gear and only at about 2000 rpm. Its a 2005 Hyundai Accent Hatchback with an automatic transmission with Royal Purple ATF. I also have a SRI and manga-flow muffler (if that makes any difference).

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Gear Stick Is Loose

Recently i noticed that my gear stick is very loose. I have read that this is a problem with the linkage bushes. I have found that the bushes are in the engine bay (3 i think) but i was wondering if there are more bushes under the gear stick that i need to change. Looking for a complete kit for all the parts needed ? Do i have to change something else ?
